Job summary

Samudera Indonesia is seeking a junior Finance/Accounting specialist to join our Jakarta team. The role supports AR and treasury activities and ensures accurate billing for freight, demurrage, and shipping services.

Ideal candidates are fresh graduates or professionals with up to 2 years in finance within shipping or logistics, proficient in Excel, and familiar with SAP or Oracle ERP.

You will report to the Finance department, help maintain internal controls, and participate in audits.

Qualifications

• Minimum Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
• Open for Fresh Graduates; up to 1–2 years in Finance/Accounting within Shipping/Maritime/Logistics preferred.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office (especially Excel) and familiar with ERP/Accounting Software (SAP, Oracle).
• Basic understanding of shipping/port billing, banking procedures, and corporate taxation is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Issue timely invoices and billing statements for freight, demurrage, detention, and shipping services.
• Monitor AR aging and follow up on outstanding receivables to ensure timely payments.
• Manage daily treasury operations, cash positions, and short-term cash flow forecasts.
• Process daily domestic/international bank transfers and FX transactions via electronic platforms.
• Perform bank reconciliations and investigate discrepancies in records.
• Verify and reconcile customer credit terms and deposits for shipping operations.
• Record AR and treasury transactions in the ERP system and assist audits.

Main Responsibilities

• Issue timely and accurate invoices and billing statements to customers for freight, demurrage, detention, and shipping agency services.
• Monitor Accounts Receivable aging reports daily and aggressively follow up on outstanding receivables to ensure timely payment collection.
• Manage daily treasury operations, including tracking cash positions, monitoring bank account balances, and preparing short-term cash flow forecasts.
• Process daily domestic/international bank transfers, foreign exchange transactions, and approved disbursements via electronic banking platforms.
• Perform daily and monthly bank reconciliations between internal accounting records and bank statements, investigating and resolving any discrepancies.
• Verify and reconcile customer credit terms, advance payments, deposit refunds, and payment allocations for shipping operations.
• Manage petty cash funds, including processing daily petty cash disbursements, reimbursements, and routine cash count audits.
• Record all AR and treasury transactions accurately in the ERP/accounting system and assist in preparing supporting documents for financial audits.

General Responsibilities

• Ensure the implementation of an Integrated Management System, including the identification, documentation, and control of financial risks and compliance within the department's work area.
• Foster and ensure the commitment of every team member to understand and adhere to all applicable Integrated Management System requirements and internal financial control standards.
• Be willing to participate in the investigation process of financial anomalies, audit findings, or operational incidents, including providing accurate information and reports based on verified facts.
• Be willing to engage in the information security control process applied to protect sensitive financial records, banking data, and information assets owned and/or managed by the Company from threats to confidentiality, integrity, and availability.

Qualifications

• Minimum Bachelor’s degree (S1) in Accounting, Finance, Management, or a related field.
• Open for Fresh Graduates; candidates with up to 1–2 years of experience in Finance/Accounting within a Shipping, Maritime, or Logistics company (with AR & Treasury exposure) are strongly preferred.
• Responsible, detail-oriented, able to work individually and in a team, disciplined, and possess high integrity in handling company funds and financial data.
• Strong analytical, reconciliation, problem-solving, and communication skills.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office (especially Excel for financial reporting) and familiar with ERP/Accounting Software (e.g., SAP, Oracle, or local shipping software).
• Basic understanding of shipping/port billing operations, banking procedures, and corporate taxation (e.g., PPh 15/23, PPN) is a plus point.
