Job summary

WACKER in Tangerang, Indonesia is seeking a Technical Assistant to support the Polymer team with testing adhesives, coatings, and related applications, while helping implement new test methods and supplier sourcing.

The role emphasizes day-to-day lab operations, inventory management, sample handling, safety compliance, and collaboration in formulation development and customer projects within a global, matrix organization.

Qualifications

• BSc in Chemical Engineering, Materials Science, Chemistry, Polymer Science, or related field.
• Fresh graduates or up to 3 years' experience encouraged.
• Experience with adhesives, sealants, or coatings is advantageous.
• Good command of English and ability to present technical information.
• Able to work in international and matrix organization.
• Well-organized, proactive, able to work with minimal supervision.
• Basic knowledge of lab safety and MS Office preferred.

Responsibilities

• Perform day-to-day laboratory testing and analysis according to international standards; interpret, document results with high accuracy, report and present laboratory test results.
• Maintain stock levels of all raw materials and dispose of expired materials.
• Ensure equipment is maintained and in good condition and is calibrated according to standards and SOP.
• Support the Assistant Technical Service Manager to ensure the lab is operated in line with WACKER quality standards and SOP; develop and update SOPs whenever necessary.
• Support the preparation, packing, and shipment of samples and prototypes for internal and external stakeholders.
• Perform other laboratory support duties as assigned by the Technical Service team.
• Ensure the lab is clean and tidy and take own initiative to clear any non-conformance.
