Job summary

Siloam Hospitals Group is seeking a Pharmacy Assistant to support outpatient and inpatient pharmacy services. Responsibilities include receiving prescriptions, preparing medicines, and assisting at the counter with patient inquiries and payments.

The role requires at least one year of pharmacy experience and a high school graduate in pharmacy. The candidate should be proficient with automated dispensing systems and electronic health records, with strong attention to detail and multi-tasking

Qualifications

• Minimum high school graduate with pharmacy focus.
• At least 1 year work experience in the field.
• Proficiency with pharmacy technology incl. dispensing systems and EHRs.
• Strong attention to detail for accurate med prep and documentation.
• Ability to manage multiple tasks (prescriptions, inventory).

Responsibilities

• Receive prescriptions, compound and prepare medicines to meet patient needs.
• Serve patients at counter; provide information, confirm prices and alternatives.
• Prepare and label medicines per standards; check prescriptions and doctor orders.
• Double-check prescriptions against originals before dispensing.
• Hand over medicines per queue and educate on use, storage and effects.
• Handle corporate/insurance prescriptions; input data and direct patient pickups.
• Check, store and record incoming/outgoing stock per procedures.
• Conduct periodic medicine and device checks to ensure inventory accuracy.
• Ensure daily recipes are complete and neatly filed.
• Collect data and prepare reports for superior accountability.
• Attend training and report data to support hospital indicators.
• Collaborate with relevant departments and units.
• Interact with patients and families as needed.
