Job summary

Procon Water is seeking an Operator WWTP to join our on-site team in Tanjung Balai Karimun. The role focuses on the day-to-day operation of wastewater treatment plants, ensuring reliable treatment and compliance with environmental standards.

You will monitor processes, record data, conduct basic testing, support preventive maintenance, and report issues to supervisors. Collaboration with engineers and maintenance staff is essential to maintain safe, efficient plant operations.

Qualifications

• Operate and monitor wastewater treatment equipment and control systems.
• Knowledge of basic water and wastewater treatment processes and safety handling of chemicals.
• Collect samples, perform simple tests, and record data with accuracy.
• Follow SOPs, troubleshoot minor operational issues, escalate as needed.
• Maintain workplace safety with PPE and health guidelines.
• Communicate effectively with on-site multidisciplinary teams.
• Willingness to work shifts, including weekends/holidays.
• Preferred: vocational/technical education in related field.
• Experience in water/wastewater operations is a plus.

Role Description The Operator WWTP is a full-time, on-site role based in Tanjung Balai Karimun, responsible for the day-to-day operation of wastewater treatment plant (IPAL) systems. This role includes monitoring and controlling treatment processes, recording operational data, performing routine inspections, and adjusting equipment settings to maintain optimal performance and compliance with environmental standards. The Operator WWTP will conduct basic testing and sampling, support preventive maintenance activities, and promptly report irregularities or equipment issues to supervisors. Collaboration with engineering and maintenance teams, adherence to safety protocols, and accurate documentation of operations are key aspects of the position.

Qualifications

• Demonstrated ability to operate and monitor wastewater treatment equipment and control systems, including pumps, tanks, and instrumentation.
• Knowledge of basic water and wastewater treatment processes, environmental regulations, and safe handling of chemicals.
• Skill in collecting samples, performing simple laboratory tests, and recording data with attention to accuracy and detail.
• Capability to follow standard operating procedures, troubleshoot minor operational issues, and escalate technical problems when needed.
• Strong awareness of workplace safety, including use of personal protective equipment and adherence to health and safety guidelines.
• Effective communication skills and ability to work collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams on-site.
• Willingness to work in shifts, including weekends or holidays, depending on plant operational requirements.
• Vocational or technical education in environmental engineering, water resources, industrial engineering, or a related field is preferred.
• Previous experience in water or wastewater treatment operations, utilities, or industrial facilities is an advantage.
