Job summary

Maestronic is seeking a Linux Network System Engineer in Bali to join our engineering team. You will design, deploy, and manage network infrastructure for embedded and IoT platforms, collaborating with software, embedded, and infrastructure teams.

The role targets engineers with 3+ years of networking experience, strong Linux networking skills, and familiarity with VPN, firewalls, and MQTT/TCP-IP protocols. A CCNA or equivalent certification is preferred. Remote work is not available.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in computer science, IT, CS, network engineering, or related fields.
• 3+ years of experience in networking or system engineering.
• Solid knowledge of IP addressing, subnetting, netmask, and related protocols.
• Hands-on experience with firewalls and security tools such as IPTables, NFTables.
• Proficient in Linux networking and administration at a medium to advanced level.
• Experience with VPN configuration, routing (static & dynamic), and QoS/packet shaping.
• Good English communication skills to collaborate with international teams.
• CCNA or equivalent certifications preferred.
• Familiarity with MQTT, HTTP/HTTPS, TCP/IP, UDP, SSH, VPN, TLS; Docker/cloud networking a plus.

Responsibilities

• Design, install and troubleshoot network connectivity across LAN, WAN, VPN, and wireless networks.
• Support deployment and configuration of routers, switches, firewalls, and network devices.

• Assist with integrating embedded devices into customer and cloud network environments.
• Support Linux-based systems used in networking and embedded applications.
• Perform network diagnostics and root cause analysis.
• Document network architecture, configurations, and operational procedures.
• Collaborate with software, embedded, and infrastructure engineers to ensure reliable system communication.

About the Role

We are looking for a Linux Network System Engineer to join our engineering team. This position is ideal for engineers with up to three years of experience who are passionate about networking, Linux systems, and IoT technologies. You will work closely with our software, embedded, and infrastructure teams to support network design, device connectivity, troubleshooting, and deployment of IoT and embedded systems.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in computer science, Information Technology, Computer Engineering, Network Engineering, or related fields.
• 3+ years of experience in networking or system engineering.
• Solid knowledge of network concepts, including IP addressing, subnetting, netmask, and related protocols.
• Hands-on experience with firewalls and security tools such as Linux IPTables, NFTables, and various hardware firewall brands.
• Proficient in Linux networking and administration at a Medium to Advanced level.
• Proven experience with VPN configuration, Routing (static & dynamic), and QoS / Packet Shaping.
• Strong analytical thinking and troubleshooting skills.
• Good communication skills and willingness to learn new technologies.
• Good English communication skills (written and spoken) to collaborate with international teams.

Preferred Qualifications

• Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA) or equivalent networking certification (MikroTik MTCNA, Juniper JNCIA, CompTIA Network+, etc.).
• Understanding IoT networking and embedded device communication.
• Familiarity with networking protocols such as MQTT, HTTP/HTTPS, TCP/IP, UDP, SSH, VPN, and TLS.
• Knowledge of Docker, virtualization, or cloud networking is a plus.
• Basic understanding of embedded Linux or IoT devices is highly desirable.
• Knowledge in C and/or C++ programming is an asset.
• Experience using Wireshark or similar network analysis tools is a plus.
• Comfortable working in a dynamic and fast-paced environment.
