Network Security Firewall Engineer

Location: Jakarta, Indonesia

Job Overview

We are looking for a skilled Network Security Firewall Engineer to design, configure, manage, and optimize enterprise network security infrastructure, with a strong focus on Palo Alto Networks firewalls and Panorama.

The successful candidate will have strong expertise in network security, firewall administration, routing, switching, VPN technologies, and enterprise LAN/WAN environments. This role will work closely with IT, Security, and Infrastructure teams to maintain secure, reliable, and high-performing network connectivity across environments.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, configure, manage, and maintain Palo Alto Networks firewalls, including security policies, NAT, VPNs, and related security configurations.
• Administer and manage Palo Alto Panorama for centralized firewall management, policy administration, monitoring, and configuration.
• Monitor, troubleshoot, and optimize network performance, availability, and security across enterprise environments.
• Implement, manage, and maintain network infrastructure including routing, switching, LAN, WAN, and VPN solutions.
• Perform regular firewall rule reviews, policy updates, cleanup, and optimization to improve security, performance, and compliance.
• Conduct firewall and network audits, risk assessments, and security reviews to identify vulnerabilities and areas for improvement.
• Support firewall migrations, upgrades, configuration changes, and policy optimization with minimal impact to business operations.
• Monitor and investigate network security events, supporting incident response, threat analysis, and security investigations when required.
• Collaborate closely with IT, Security, Infrastructure, and other technical teams to ensure secure and reliable connectivity across on-premises and cloud environments.
• Troubleshoot complex network and firewall issues and provide timely resolution for incidents and service requests.
• Maintain accurate network diagrams, firewall documentation, configurations, procedures, and operational records.
• Provide technical support, knowledge transfer, and guidance to other members of the network and infrastructure teams.
• Contribute to continuous improvement of network security architecture, operational processes, and security controls.

Required Skills & Qualifications

• Strong understanding of enterprise networking protocols and technologies, including:
  • TCP/IP

• Hands-on experience administering Palo Alto Networks firewalls, including:
  • Firewall configuration and troubleshooting
  • Security policy management
  • NAT and VPN configuration

  • Panorama administration
• Strong understanding of network security concepts, including intrusion detection/prevention, threat prevention, access control, and security monitoring.
• Experience managing enterprise-level LAN, WAN, and VPN infrastructures.
• Practical experience with firewall migrations, upgrades, rule reviews, and security policy optimization.
• Strong troubleshooting, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to analyze network and security events and support incident response and threat investigation.
• Strong communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively across IT, Security, Infrastructure, and business teams.
• Ability to create and maintain clear technical documentation and operational procedures.

Preferred Qualifications

• Palo Alto Networks certifications, such as PCNSA or PCNSE, are highly desirable.
• Experience with additional network and security platforms such as Fortinet, Check Point, or Cisco/Meraki is an advantage.
• Knowledge and hands-on experience with cloud networking and security across platforms such as:
  • AWS
  • Microsoft Azure
  • Google Cloud Platform (GCP)
• Experience supporting enterprise security transformation, firewall modernization, or network infrastructure improvement initiatives is a plus.
