Job summary

Siemens in Jakarta is seeking an experienced electrical design engineer for MV switchgear drawings and related schematics. You will work with MV Front Engineers to translate designs into GA, SLD, and control diagrams using ELCAD or EPLAN.

Improve documentation, ensure compliance with IEC 62771, and support protection schemes. Required: 1–5 years in MV electrical design, bachelor’s in electrical engineering, and expert-level drawing skills.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering.
• 1-5 years of MV electrical design and drawing experience.
• Experience creating GA, SLD, schematic, and assembly drawings.
• Knowledge of MV switchgear components up to 36kV.
• Familiarity with IEC 62771 MV standards.

Responsibilities

• Create GA drawings and detailed schematics for MV switchgears.
• Translate design concepts into electrical drawings using ELCAD/EPLAN.
• Ensure drawings meet project requirements and customer specs.
• Maintain revision control and documentation management.
• Support protection schemes and relay coordination activities.

You’ll create impact by

• Work closely with MV Front Engineers to understand design requirements and specifications
• Translate design concepts and specifications into accurate technical drawings
• Create General Arrangement (GA) drawings for MV switchgears
• Produce detailed schematic diagrams, wiring diagrams, and control circuits
• Develop layout drawings and panel arrangement diagrams
• Maintain drawing revision control and documentation management
• Ensure all drawings align with project requirements and customer specifications
• Utilize ELCAD and/or EPLAN to create high-quality electrical drawings
• Ensure all drawings comply with IEC 62771 and relevant standards

Your defining qualities:

• Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering
• 1-5 years of experience in MV electrical design and engineering drawing preparation
• Proven experience in creating GA, SLD, schematic, and assembly drawings
• Background in industrial, power distribution, or manufacturing projects
• Proficiency in ELCAD and/or EPLAN - Expert level in creating electrical drawings
• Strong knowledge of MV switchgear components and systems (up to 36kV)
• Understanding of MV circuit breakers, disconnectors, VTs, CTs, and protection relays
• Familiarity with MV protection schemes and relay coordination
• Knowledge of IEC 62771 and related MV standards
• Basic understanding of electrical calculations (load flow, cable sizing, short circuit)
