Job summary

TechConnect seeks a seasoned Head of IT Operations to lead the technology backbone for its mining operations. This senior role spans IT Infrastructure, IoT, OT, Network, Automation, and Cybersecurity, across head office and remote mine sites.

You will drive IT governance, architecture, and resilience, ensuring secure, scalable operations that support production, safety, and business continuity while managing budgets and an experienced team.

Qualifications

20+ years in progressive IT leadership, prefer mining/industrial context.
Hands-on expertise in IT Infrastructure, IoT, OT, Network, Automation and BCP/Cybersecurity.
Proven governance and strategy across IT Infrastructure, Security, and Applications.
Experience managing IT/OT convergence in production environments.
Willingness to travel to remote mine sites.
Bachelor's degree in IT/CS/Engineering; MBA a plus.

Responsibilities

Lead IT Operations strategy across Infrastructure, Network, IoT/OT, Automation, and Cybersecurity.
Oversee mine site connectivity and network design.
Govern OT/ICS/SCADA environments supporting production.
Drive IT/OT convergence and secure integrations.
Lead automation across infrastructure and ITSM/ITOM tooling.
Own BCP/DR strategies for critical systems.
Set cybersecurity strategy for IT and OT domains.
Define IT governance frameworks and policies.
Manage budgets, vendor relations, and contracts.
Develop a high-performing IT Operations team.
Report performance and risk to executives.
Ensure compliance with safety, environmental and regulatory requirements.
