About MJI Design

MJI Design is an international building services design company specialising in hydraulic (plumbing) design and detailed construction documentation for projects across Australia.

Our work includes complex residential, commercial and large-scale developments, requiring a high level of technical accuracy, coordination and problem-solving.

We are looking to expand our remote design team by recruiting an experienced technical professional based in Bali, Indonesia.

About the Role

We are seeking a highly capable Senior Plumbing BIM Modeller / MEP Designer with extensive experience in building services engineering, service coordination in Revit, creating construction drawings and technical building design.

Our preference is for experienced MEP designers / MEP modeller and designers, particularly those with a background in plumbing or HVAC services.

We will also consider highly exceptional senior architects, architectural technicians or building designers who possess strong technical skills and extensive construction documentation experience.

The successful candidate will contribute to Australian projects, working collaboratively with our international team.

Previous experience with Australian Plumbing design is advantageous but not essential. Specialised training in Australian design requirements and standards will be provided where appropriate.

We are looking for somebody who is highly intelligent, with great problem-solving skills, and has the ability to learn quickly.

Mandatory Requirements

Applicants must meet ALL of the following:

Minimum 7 years of professional experience in MEP design and BIM modelling, building services, architecture or a related technical building design discipline.

Advanced proficiency in BOTH Autodesk Revit and AutoCAD, supported by extensive professional experience.

Fluent written and spoken English, including the ability to interpret technical documentation and communicate effectively.

Extensive experience preparing detailed construction drawings and technical documentation.

Strong understanding of building construction methods, building systems and multidisciplinary coordination.

Experience working on complex multi-storey residential, commercial or institutional projects.

Excellent technical problem-solving skills and attention to detail.

Ability to work independently, take ownership of assigned responsibilities and deliver work to a consistently high standard.

This is a senior technical position and is not suitable for junior designers or entry-level applicants.

Preferred Experience

Revit MEP systems modelling and documentation.

BIM coordination and clash detection.

Australian construction projects and design standards.

Engineering or architecture qualifications.
