Job summary

goldenagri seeks an experienced Senior Estate Mechanization Engineer to drive performance improvement across its oil palm estates. You will monitor KPI dashboards, identify gaps, and coordinate root-cause actions with PMC and Operations.

You will also coach teams, share best practices, and escalate critical issues to leadership. The role requires 8–10 years of mechanization leadership, strong agronomy and machinery knowledge, and willingness to travel to remote estates.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field.
• 8–10 years in the oil palm industry with mechanization leadership.
• Strong knowledge of palm oil estate agronomy, topography, soil types, and machinery operations.
• Experience in machine commissioning, field trials, SOP standardization for wide rollout.
• Proficient in data-driven decision making using dashboards.
• Proven change management and technology adoption across estates.
• Excellent cross-functional communication from executives to field operators.
• Willingness to travel to remote estate sites.

Job Description Summary

To drive the effective implementation and continuous improvement of estate mechanization by monitoring performance, identifying and resolving performance gaps, ensuring compliance with mechanization standards, and providing technical guidance to PMC and Operations. The role contributes to improving mechanization effectiveness, reliability, and operational performance across PSM through technical assessment, corrective actions, and the sharing of best practices.

Job Description

• Monitor & evaluation mechanization performance through the Mechanization Dashboard, including output, utilization, availability, downtime, breakdown, improvement program and other KPIs.
• Identify performance gaps and deviation from approved standards and targets.
• Coordinate with PMC to identify root causes and ensure timely corrective actions.
• Conduct periodic field technical visits, inspections and maturity assessments.
• Provide technical coaching and re-socialization of mechanization standards to PMC and Operations.
• Facilitate sharing of best practices and successful solutions across PSMs.
• Escalate unresolved technical and implementation issues to Head of Estate Mechanization.

Job Requirements

• Minimum Bachelor's Degree (S1) in Mechanical Engineering, Agricultural or other fields relevant.
• Minimum 8-10 years of experience in the oil palm industry, with proven involvement in leading or executing agricultural mechanization, field machinery rollout, or operational excellence initiatives.
• Strong hands-on understanding of palm oil estate agronomy, field conditions (topography, soil types), and machinery operations (harvesting, evacuation, manuring, maintenance).
• Proven experience in machine commissioning, field trials/piloting, operational stabilization, and standardizing SOPs for wide-scale rollout.
• Solid capability in equipment maintenance fundamentals, fleet utilization, and downtime management.
• Proficiency in data-driven decision making using operational dashboards to track and analyze mechanization KPIs (Machine Utilization, Cost/ha, Availability, Labour Productivity, and ROI).
• Proven track record in driving operational change management and technology adoption across estates, with the ability to build field capabilities, train local teams and align PSM/PMC coordinators.
• Exceptional interpersonal and cross-functional communication skills to coordinate effectively from top operational management to estate managers and field-level operators.
• High ownership, results-and-impact-driven, with strong continuous improvement and problem-solving mindsets.
• Willingness to travel extensively to remote estate sites and plantation operational areas.
