Job summary

Golden Agri Resources in Jakarta seeks a senior mechanization specialist to drive estate mechanization, monitor performance, and lead improvement programs across PSM. You will oversee field visits, implement standards, and coach teams for scale-up using data dashboards.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering, agriculture or related field.
  • 8–10 years in the oil palm industry with mechanization or field machinery rollout.
  • Hands-on understanding of palm oil estate agronomy and machinery operations.
  • Experience in machine commissioning, field trials, operational stabilization, and SOP standardization for wide-scale rollout.
  • Strong maintenance fundamentals, fleet utilization, and downtime management.
  • Data-driven decision making using dashboards to track KPIs.
  • Proven track record in operational change management and technology adoption.
  • Excellent interpersonal and cross-functional communication; able to coordinate from senior management to field operators.
  • Willingness to travel extensively to remote estate sites.

Job Description Summary

To drive the effective implementation and continuous improvement of estate mechanization by monitoring performance, identifying and resolving performance gaps, ensuring compliance with mechanization standards, and providing technical guidance to PMC and Operations. The role contributes to improving mechanization effectiveness, reliability, and operational performance across PSM through technical assessment, corrective actions, and the sharing of best practices.

Job Description

Monitor & evaluation mechanization performance through the Mechanization Dashboard, including output, utilization, availability, downtime, breakdown, improvement program and other KPIs. Identify performance gaps and deviation from approved standards and targets. Coordinate with PMC to identify root causes and ensure timely corrective actions. Conduct periodic field technical visits, inspections and maturity assessments. Provide technical coaching and re-socialization of mechanization standards to PMC and Operations. Facilitate sharing of best practices and successful solutions across PSMs. Escalate unresolved technical and implementation issues to Head of Estate Mechanization.

Job Requirements
  • Minimum Bachelor’s Degree (S1) in Mechanical Engineering, Agricultural or other fields relevant.
  • Minimum 8–10 years of experience in the oil palm industry, with proven involvement in leading or executing agricultural mechanization, field machinery rollout, or operational excellence initiatives.
  • Strong hands‑on understanding of palm oil estate agronomy, field conditions (topography, soil types), and machinery operations (harvesting, evacuation, manuring, maintenance).
  • Proven experience in machine commissioning, field trials/piloting, operational stabilization, and standardizing SOPs for wide-scale rollout.
  • Solid capability in equipment maintenance fundamentals, fleet utilization, and downtime management.
  • Proficiency in data‑driven decision making using operational dashboards to track and analyze mechanization KPIs (Machine Utilization, Cost/ha, Availability, Labour Productivity, and ROI).
  • Proven track record in driving operational change management and technology adoption across estates, with the ability to build field capabilities, train local teams, and align PSM/PMC coordinators.
  • Exceptional interpersonal and cross‑functional communication skills to coordinate effectively from top operational management to estate managers and field‑level operators.
  • High ownership, results‑and impact‑driven, with strong continuous improvement and problem‑solving mindsets.
  • Willingness to travel extensively to remote estate sites and plantation operational areas.
