Job summary

Dekoruma in Jakarta is seeking a Senior Product Designer to translate customer requirements into feasible custom furniture and interior products, leading development from concept to production readiness.

You will collaborate with Demand, Design, Buying, Production, and Supply teams, review technical drawings, and research materials to ensure durable, cost-effective solutions and timely delivery.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in design-related field.
• Experience in product development, furniture or interior design.
• Strong knowledge of furniture components, materials, and manufacturing methods.
• Ability to read technical drawings and shop drawings.
• Proficiency in SketchUp, AutoCAD, or equivalent tools.
• Excellent analytical, communication, and project coordination skills.

Responsibilities

• Develop and translate customer requirements, interior design concepts, and project briefs into feasible custom furniture and interior product solutions.
• Manage the product development process from concept development, material selection, and technical design to prototyping and production readiness.
• Collaborate with Demand, Design, Buying, Production, and Supply teams to ensure product solutions meet design expectations, functional requirements, budget targets, and production capabilities.
• Prepare and review technical drawings, 3D models, product specifications, material selections, and product documentation to support project execution.
• Conduct research on furniture and interior materials, construction methods, hardware, finishing, and industry trends to identify suitable solutions for custom interior projects.
• Evaluate product feasibility, material availability, production processes, and cost implications to ensure products are practical, durable, and commercially viable.
• Identify opportunities for cost optimization, value engineering, material efficiency, and product development process improvements.
• Manage multiple product development projects while ensuring quality, accuracy, and timely delivery.
• Coordinate with internal stakeholders and external suppliers to resolve technical issues and ensure smooth product development and implementation.
• Support product development planning, project prioritization, and cross-functional alignment to improve development efficiency and product quality.

Minimum Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Product Design, Interior Design, Architecture, or a related field.
• Relevant experience in product development, furniture design, interior design, or a related field.
• Strong understanding of custom furniture, interior components, materials, construction methods, finishing, hardware, and manufacturing processes.
• Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, furniture shop drawings, and architectural or interior drawings.
• Proficiency in design and technical drawing software such as SketchUp, AutoCAD, or equivalent tools.
• Understanding of product feasibility, material selection, production constraints, and cost considerations.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, communication, and project coordination skills.
• Detail-oriented, proactive, adaptable, and able to manage multiple projects with tight deadlines.
