Job summary

PT Medco Geothermal Sarulla (MGS) seeks skilled professionals for electrical, instrumentation, control and automation maintenance at the Tarutung, North Sumatra site.

The role covers preventive, predictive and corrective maintenance, testing of DCS/PLC systems, and coordination with contractors to ensure safety, reliability and availability of plant equipment.

Qualifications

• Diploma 3 in Electrical or Electronics, instrumentation or automation engineering.
• Strong planning and programming skills.
• Good written and spoken English.

Responsibilities

• Perform preventive, predictive and corrective maintenance on electrical, instrumentation, control and automation systems.
• Inspect, test, calibrate, troubleshoot and repair electrical, instrumentation, PLC, DCS, SCADA and communication systems.
• Maintain generators, excitation systems, transformers, protection relays and 150 kV switchyard equipment.
• Execute CMMS-based maintenance work orders following OEM recommendations.
• Conduct routine equipment inspections and report safety or reliability issues.
• Support startup, shutdown, commissioning, testing and recommissioning activities.
• Test control, protection, interlocks and safety devices for proper operation.
• Participate in troubleshooting and reliability improvement initiatives.
• Monitor contractor and vendor activities for compliance with specs, quality, and HSE.
• Maintain maintenance records, calibration docs and equipment history.
• Follow HSE requirements including PTW, LOTO and safety procedures.
• Provide emergency support during equipment failures or disturbances.
• Maintain tools and calibration instruments in good condition.
• Perform other duties as assigned by E&I Supervisor or Maintenance Management.

Job Description :

• Perform preventive, predictive and corrective maintenance on electrical, instrumentation, control and automation systems to ensure safe and reliable plant operation.
• Inspect, test, calibrate, troubleshoot and repair electrical, instrumentation, PLC, DCS, SCADA and communication systems.
• Perform maintenance and monitoring of generators, excitation systems, transformers, protection relays and 150 kV switchyard equipment.
• Execute maintenance work orders in accordance with CMMS schedules, maintenance procedures and OEM recommendations.
• Conduct routine equipment inspections and report abnormalities that may affect plant safety, reliability or availability.
• Support startup, shutdown, commissioning, testing and recommissioning activities of plant equipment and systems.
• Perform functional testing of control systems, protection systems, interlocks and safety devices to ensure proper operation.
• Participate in equipment troubleshooting, root cause analysis and reliability improvement initiatives.
• Monitor and verify contractor and vendor activities to ensure compliance with technical specifications, quality standards and HSE requirements.
• Maintain maintenance records, calibration documentation, technical reports and equipment history data.
• Comply with all company HSE requirements, including Permit to Work (PTW), Lock Out Tag Out (LOTO) and other safety procedures.
• Perform emergency call-out duties and provide technical support during equipment failures or plant disturbances.
• Maintain tools, testing equipment and calibration instruments in good working condition.
• Perform other duties as assigned by the E&I Supervisor or Maintenance Management.

Job Qualification :

• Minimum Graduate of Diploma 3 Degree preferably in Electrical or Electronics Engineering, instrumentation engineering, automation engineering;
• Minimum 5 years of experience in power generation, geothermal, oil & gas, mining or heavy industrial facilities.
• Experience in operation and maintenance of electrical, instrumentation and control systems.
• Experience working with high voltage systems is preferred.
• Experience with DCS and PLC systems is preferred.
• Experience in geothermal power plants is an advantage.
• Good planning and computer programming skills;
• Good communication and reporting skills both verbal and in writing, specifically in English language;
• Having experiences in multi-national project development performed in various countries is desirable but not essential;
• Willingness to work weekends, holidays and overtime as necessary;
• Willingness to travel and relocate in Tarutung, North Sumatra;
• Multi-cultural knowledge and working experience.
