PT. EXA MITRA SOLUSI (EXA) in Makassar seeks a Laboratory Supervisor to own the quality control laboratory, manage GC‑FID and GC‑MS analyses, and ensure data integrity for essential oils and aroma chemicals.

You will train under an external consultant during the first three months and document results per English ISO methods and customer specifications, maintaining accurate records with LabSolutions.

Qualifikationen

• Minimum 3 years hands-on experience in an analytical or quality control laboratory.
• Experience operating gas chromatography; GC-MS operation and interpretation preferred.
• Able to read, understand and apply English-language ISO methods and customer specifications.
• Competent in Microsoft Excel and maintaining accurate written records.
• Demonstrated integrity in reporting analytical results, including unfavourable ones.
• Methodical, organised, and able to work independently with limited supervision.
• Experience with essential oils, aroma chemicals, flavour and fragrance, food or agro-commodity testing.
• Hands-on experience with Shimadzu instruments and LabSolutions software.
• Experience developing or transferring GC methods.

Aufgaben

• Take full day-to-day ownership of the quality control laboratory.
• Perform routine analysis of patchouli oil, clove oil and related aroma chemicals: acid value, specific gravity, optical rotation, refractive index and colour.
• Operate Shimadzu GC-FID and GC-MS: sample preparation, injection, peak integration, library searching and interpretation of results.
• Determine patchouli alcohol content, eugenol content and derivative purity per standard.
• Screen incoming/outgoing material for adulteration using GC-MS.
• Verify system suitability before releasing analytical results.
• Investigate out-of-specification and anomalous results, and escalate promptly to the Technical Manager.
