Job summary

KIRA is seeking a Lead Engineer to take technical ownership of complex products and raise the engineering bar across the team. This hands-on leadership role requires designing systems, writing and reviewing code, and guiding other engineers from idea to production.

You will move between architecture and implementation, make strong technical decisions, and mentor colleagues while shipping high-quality software across backend, frontend, and APIs. This role is remote with global teams.

Qualifications

• Strong software engineering background with production systems experience.
• Deep expertise in backend, frontend, APIs, databases or cloud infrastructure.
• Strong system design and architecture skills with experience making technical decisions.
• Willingness to remain hands-on while leading projects.

Responsibilities

• Lead the technical design and execution of major products, features and engineering initiatives.
• Design scalable, reliable and maintainable systems across backend, frontend, APIs, databases and infrastructure.
• Stay hands-on with coding, prototyping, code reviews, debugging and production problem-solving.
• Make architecture decisions and technical trade-offs balancing speed, reliability and maintainability.
• Mentor engineers and help strengthen technical capability across the team.
• Own systems beyond release — monitor production, investigate incidents and improve reliability.
