Job summary

BJAK is seeking a Lead Engineer to take technical ownership of complex products and systems, guiding the engineering bar across the team. This is a hands-on leadership role that involves designing systems, writing and reviewing code, solving difficult problems, and steering major initiatives from idea to production.

You will move between architecture and implementation, making strong technical decisions while staying close to code to execute when needed. Remote, globally distributed team.

Qualifications

• Proven production systems experience.
• Deep expertise in backend, frontend, APIs, databases or cloud.
• Strong system design and architecture skills.
• Able to lead major engineering projects and mentor others.

Responsibilities

• Lead the technical design and execution of major products and initiatives.
• Design scalable, reliable systems across backend, frontend, APIs, databases, and infrastructure.
• Stay hands-on with coding, prototyping, code reviews, and debugging.
• Make architectural decisions balancing speed, scalability, and reliability.
• Mentor engineers and provide feedback on designs and code.
• Monitor production and drive reliability improvements.
