Job summary

Amk Technology in Jakarta is seeking an L2 DC Electrical Engineer to ensure reliable power distribution and the safe operation of critical electrical systems supporting high-density GPU racks and cooling infrastructure.

You will monitor power quality, perform preventive maintenance, handle alarms, and execute safe switching in a 24/7 data center, with shift work and on-call readiness.

Qualifications

• 3–5 years of hands-on experience operating electrical systems inside a 24/7 data center or critical facility.
• Diploma or Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering, Facilities Engineering, or a related technical field.
• Strong understanding of data center power infrastructure, including MV/LV switchgear, UPS systems, generators, PDUs, busways, and circuit breakers.

Responsibilities

• Monitor power quality, phase balance, and load capacity across PDUs, RPPs, overhead busways, and rack power feeds.
• Respond to electrical alarms, circuit breaker trips, UPS issues, and power quality anomalies to prevent downtime.
• Perform routine preventive maintenance and safe electrical switching, load transfers, and failover procedures.
• Coordinate electrical testing, thermography, battery testing, and load-bank trials.
• Maintain electrical safety (LOTO, Permit-to-Work) and escalate to L3 engineers/OEM vendors as needed.

Job Description:

The DC L2 Electrical Engineer ensures the reliability, continuous power distribution, and safe operation of mission‑critical electrical systems supporting high‑density GPU racks and cooling infrastructure. Working within the data hall, this role focuses on day‑to‑day power monitoring, troubleshooting alarms, performing preventive maintenance, executing safe switching procedures, and responding to incidents in a 24/7 data center environment.

Key Responsibilities

• 24/7 Data Center Operations: Monitor power quality, phase balance, and load capacity across PDUs, RPPs, overhead busways, and rack power feeds.
• Fault Troubleshooting: Respond quickly to electrical alarms, circuit breaker trips, UPS issues, and power quality anomalies to prevent downtime.
• Switching & Maintenance: Execute routine preventive maintenance (PM) and perform safe electrical switching, load transfers, and failover procedures using SOPs, MOPs, and EOPs.
• Testing & Diagnostics: Conduct or coordinate electrical testing, infrared thermography, battery testing, and load‑bank trials.
• Safety & Escalation: Maintain strict electrical safety (LOTO, Permit-to-Work) and manage escalations to L3 engineers and OEM vendors for complex technical issues.

Requirements

• Data Center Experience: 3–5 years of hands‑on experience operating electrical systems inside a 24/7 data center or critical facility.
• Education: Diploma or Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering, Facilities Engineering, or a related technical field.
• Technical Knowledge: Strong understanding of data center power infrastructure, including MV/LV switchgear, UPS systems, generators, ATS/STS, PDUs, busways, and circuit breakers.
• Schematics & Safety: Proven ability to read single‑line diagrams (SLDs) and strictly adhere to electrical safety standards and emergency procedures.
• Schedule: Willing and able to work shifts or provide on‑call emergency response in a 24/7 facility setup.
