Dekoruma is seeking a buyer/sourcing professional to drive category performance through new product development and SKU replacements, focusing on margin improvements via better sourcing and cost structure. You will build a product ladder using sales data, customer insights, and benchmarks, and work with factories to resolve quality issues while managing development from sampling to PO.
Willingness to travel for sourcing fairs and supplier meetings is expected; fluency in Bahasa Indonesia and
Drive category performance through new product development, replacement of underperforming SKUs, and continuous improvement of existing products. Identify opportunities to improve margin through better sourcing, materials, specifications, features, or cost structure.
Develop a clear and well-analyzed product ladder across price points and customer needs. Use sales data, customer insights, competitor benchmarks, and learnings from adjacent categories to identify gaps and new opportunities.
Work toward a 0.5% product defect rate by developing a strong understanding of furniture construction, materials, and manufacturing. Make practical cost-versus-quality decisions and work directly with factories to resolve product and quality issues.
Build productive, long-term relationships with suppliers and factories. Participate in sourcing fairs and factory visits, negotiate product costing and specifications, and manage the development process from sampling through purchase order and quality resolution.
Job Qualifications:
2–3 years of buying, merchandising, sourcing, or product development experience in furniture, home living, or other relevant categories.
Hands-on experience working directly with factories, including cost negotiation and product specification trade-offs.
Able to explain at least one product you have helped develop from concept to launch, including the commercial, cost, material, or quality decisions made along the way.
Working knowledge of furniture construction and materials — such as wood, upholstery, foam, finishes, and hardware — is a plus.
Comfortable working with data, including sales performance, margins, product performance, and basic customer segmentation.
Strong commercial judgment with curiosity about why a product sells, who buys it, and how it can be improved.
Willing to travel for sourcing fairs, supplier meetings, and factory visits.
Fluent in Bahasa Indonesia and English. Having a proficiency in Mandarin is a strong plus point.
