About the role

We are seeking a skilled Jointer and Material Controller - FTTH to join our telecommunications operations team in Medan, Sumatera Utara. This is a full-time position that plays a crucial role in our FTTH deployment and network maintenance operations. As a Jointer and Material Controller, you will be responsible for managing the installation and jointing of fibre optic cables whilst ensuring efficient inventory and material control across our operations. This role is essential to maintaining the quality and integrity of our FTTH network infrastructure and ensuring projects are delivered on time and within budget specifications.

Key responsibilities

• Perform fibre optic cable jointing and splicing operations in accordance with industry standards and company procedures
• Conduct quality inspections and testing of jointed fibre connections to ensure optimal performance and signal integrity
• Maintain accurate records and documentation of all jointing work completed, including joint locations and splice loss data
• Manage material inventory for FTTH installations, including receiving, storing, and issuing equipment and consumables
• Monitor stock levels and initiate material requisitions to maintain adequate supplies for ongoing projects
• Coordinate with site engineers and installation teams to ensure material availability and timely delivery to project locations
• Conduct regular audits of material stock to prevent loss, damage, or wastage
• Maintain cleanliness and organisation of jointing areas and material storage facilities
• Comply with health and safety regulations and implement best practices on all sites
• Report issues, delays, or discrepancies in materials or jointing processes to supervisory staff

What we’re looking for

• Proven experience in fibre optic cable jointing, splicing, and FTTH network installation
• Certification in fibre optic splicing or related telecommunications qualifications
• Demonstrated experience in material inventory management and stock control in a telecommunications or similar technical environment
• Knowledge of FTTH installation procedures, standards, and best practices
• Familiarity with fibre optic testing equipment and quality assurance procedures
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy in record-keeping and documentation
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment
• Excellent organisational and communication skillsPhysical fitness to perform manual labour, climbing, and working at heights when required
• Valid driving licence and willingness to travel to various project sites
• Fluency in Indonesian and English is preferred
