Job summary

Dala in Jakarta seeks a senior business development leader to establish our primary presence in Indonesia's capital, building relationships, a strong pipeline, and visibility to grow the organisation.

You will own opportunity development, manage end-to-end proposals, and build strategic partnerships to strengthen Dala's competitive positioning, attending sector events and representing the organisation in Jakarta and beyond.

Qualifications

• Masters degree in a related field.
• Minimum 10 years of experience in business development.
• Familiarity with the development, climate, and/or environment sectors in Indonesia.
• Established networks with funders, clients, NGOs, researchers, and policy-makers in Jakarta.
• Proven proposal writing and client/donor relationship experience; strong writing in English and Bahasa.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain Dala's opportunity development strategy and pipeline.
• Monitor calls for proposals across development, climate, and environment sectors.
• Build strategic partnerships and represent Dala at sector events in Jakarta and beyond.
• Lead go/no-go assessments and coordinate partner recruitment for proposals.
• Ensure compliance with client and donor requirements and coordinate proposal timelines.
• Contribute to proposal writing and translate staff ideas into proposals.
