Job summary

AWS Infrastructure Services seeks a Regional Environmental Engineer to oversee environmental compliance for Jakarta data centers. You will develop regional standards, guide contractors, and ensure adherence to Indonesian regulations.

You will work across engineering, construction, and operations, performing performance analysis, monitoring metrics, and leading audits. Travel domestically as needed and coordinate with government agencies. Strong communication and leadership are essential.

Qualifications

• Excellent communication skills and ability to coordinate with multiple stakeholders.
• Bachelor's degree in chemistry, chemical or environmental engineering or related field.
• 7+ years of experience as environmental technical resource, manager, or consultant.
• Experience with environmental permit evaluations and regulatory compliance in Indonesia.

Responsibilities

• Manage and oversee compliance with Indonesia environmental regulations and Amazon standards.
• Develop regional programs integrating with engineering, construction, and operations.
• Lead interactions with Indonesian regulatory agencies and permit processes.
• Ensure contractors and employees meet Amazon environmental standards.
• Develop environmental metrics to monitor performance and drive improvements.
• Conduct environmental audits of data centers in Jakarta for continuous improvement.
• Prioritize and manage multiple complex assignments.
• Assist legal/public policy teams with government agencies.
• Build relationships with stakeholders to identify and mitigate risks.
• Submit timely reports to policy teams interfacing with government agencies.
• Investigate environmental incidents and implement corrective actions.
