Job summary

Nawatech is seeking a skilled IoT hardware engineer to translate requirements into robust hardware for IoT devices. You will design sensors, power systems, interfaces, and embedded hardware, delivering schematics, PCB layouts, and prototypes for field deployment.

You will collaborate with firmware and software teams, perform rigorous testing, and contribute to hardware documentation, revisions, and optimization for cost and reliability.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in a related field.
• Minimum 3 years of experience in electronic hardware design or IoT product development.
• Strong understanding of analog and digital electronics and embedded hardware architecture.
• Experience designing IoT hardware including sensors, interfaces, and power systems.
• Hands-on with schematic design, PCB layout, routing, and design reviews.
• Knowledge of power supply, battery management, charging circuits, and protection.
• PCB prototyping, bring-up, validation, and debugging.
• Mechanical CAD and 3D product design for enclosures and mounting.
• Proficiency in PCB design tools (KiCad).
• Proficiency in CAD/3D tools (Inventor, AutoCAD).
• Experience with measurement equipment (multimeters, oscilloscopes, logic analyzers).
• Ability to prepare and maintain schematics, BOM, Gerber files, and test reports.
• Strong hardware troubleshooting and continuous improvement mindset.

1. 1. Assess IoT requirements and translate them into hardware and system requirements.
2. 2. Design and develop hardware for IoT devices, including sensors, power systems, communication interfaces, and embedded systems.
3. 3. Select appropriate electronic components, sensors, modules, and communication technologies based on system requirements.
4. 4. Develop schematics, PCB designs, prototypes, and hardware revisions.
5. 5. Integrate sensors, actuators, communication modules, and other hardware components into IoT devices.
6. 6. Perform hardware testing, validation, debugging, and troubleshooting to ensure reliability and performance.
7. 7. Support device deployment, commissioning, and field troubleshooting.
8. 8. Create and maintain technical documentation, including schematics, BOM, hardware specifications, and test reports.
9. 9. Collaborate with firmware/software engineers, solution teams, project managers, and field teams.
10. 10. Continuously improve hardware design, reliability, power efficiency, manufacturability, and cost.

What Will You Need

1. 1. Bachelor’s/Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronics Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field.
2. 2. Minimum 3 years of experience in electronic hardware design, embedded hardware, or IoT product development.
3. 3. Strong understanding of analog and digital electronics, circuit design, and embedded hardware architecture.
4. 4. Experience designing IoT hardware, including sensor interfaces, embedded controllers, communication interfaces, and power systems.
5. 5. Hands-on experience in schematic design, PCB layout, component selection, routing, and PCB design review.
6. 6. Strong understanding of power supply, battery management, charging circuits, voltage regulation, power optimization, and hardware protection such as ESD, surge, reverse polarity, overvoltage, and overcurrent protection.
7. 7. Experience with PCB prototyping, board bring-up, hardware validation, debugging, and design revision.
8. 8. Experience in mechanical CAD and 3D product design, including enclosure, mounting mechanisms, component integration, and manufacturing considerations.
9. 9. Proficient in PCB design tools particularly using KiCad.
10. 10. Proficient in CAD/3D design tools such as Inventor, AutoCAD, or similar.
11. 11. Proficient in using electronic measurement and debugging equipment such as multimeters, oscilloscopes, logic analyzers, and power supplies.
12. 12. Ability to prepare and maintain technical documentation, including schematics, PCB files, BOM, Gerber files, CAD drawings, 3D models, specifications, and test reports.
13. 13. Strong hardware troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
14. 14. Continuous learner with the ability to adapt to new hardware and product design technologies.
