Job summary

Stella Maris International Education is seeking an experienced English teacher for Junior and High School to develop engaging lessons and foster an immersive English-speaking classroom.

The ideal candidate holds a Bachelor's degree in English and a TESOL/CELTA certification, with at least two years of teaching experience, preferably in secondary education.

Applicants should demonstrate strong communication with students, parents, and colleagues, and be comfortable with IB or Cambridge curricula.

Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years of teaching experience, preferably in secondary education.
• Bachelor’s Degree in English Literature, English Language, Education, or a related discipline from a reputable university.
• Candidates with a Bachelor’s Degree in another discipline may be considered if they hold a TESOL/CELTA certification.
• Excellent command of English, both spoken and written.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills when working with students, parents, and colleagues.
• Experience teaching English, preferably at Junior or High School level.
• Experience with IB or Cambridge Curriculum is highly preferred.
• Proven ability to develop engaging and successful academic programs and learning activities.
• Passionate, creative, and student-oriented with the ability to create an engaging English-speaking classroom environment.
• Able to commit to a minimum one-year employment contract.

Responsibilities

• Develop and prepare comprehensive lesson plans and ensure all learning materials are ready before class.
• Create an orderly, positive, and conducive classroom environment.
• Encourage students to actively participate and maximize their English speaking practice in class.
• Continuously assess and monitor students’ English speaking skills and overall learning progress.
• Develop engaging quizzes, tests, and assessments for Junior and High School students.
• Grade students’ assignments, classwork, and tests, and provide constructive feedback.
• Carry out the teaching timetable and academic responsibilities assigned by the school.
• Develop engaging and effective learning activities and academic programs that support students’ English development.
• Collaborate effectively with students, parents, and colleagues to support students’ academic progress.
