Wira's Playroom in Jakarta seeks dedicated teacher assistants to support children with special needs under the Classroom Lead, helping each child participate, stay engaged, and access activities in a nurturing setting.

You will follow therapists' strategies, prepare materials for planned activities, and ensure warmth, privacy, and dignity in all interactions. Collaboration is essential for every learning moment.

Responsabilidades

• Support children in the room, working 1:1 or with a small group under the Classroom Lead's direction, helping each child take part, stay engaged, and access the activity at their level
• Prepare materials and deliver planned activities and the steps of each child's IEP as directed
• Help with toileting, feeding, and mobility where a child needs it — always with warmth, dignity, and privacy, following the school's procedures
• Help children move calmly between activities and support them to regulate using their agreed routine — spotting the early signs before a small wobble becomes a meltdown
• Use communication tools, regulation routines, and prompting methods the therapists and Classroom Lead have set, consistently, so the child gets the same approach from everyone
• Notice how a child is doing and feed it back to the Classroom Lead — what worked, what didn't, what changed — so the plan can improve
• Record activity notes as directed, hold information in confidence, and report any concern to the Classroom Lead immediately
• Apply the 'least-to-most' prompting ladder: wait and give the child time; use gesture or visual cues; provide verbal hints; model behaviour; use physical guide only as much as needed and fade as fast as possible
