Manulife John Hancock Indonesia seeks a qualified accounting professional to manage IFRS 17/PSAK 117 reporting, reconciliations, and internal controls within a fast-paced insurance environment.
You will prepare audit-ready working papers, coordinate with regional stakeholders, and ensure timely delivery of deliverables. A bachelor's degree in accounting and 4–5 years of experience are required, with fluent English and strong communication skills.
1. Prepare recurring accounting and financial reporting deliverables. Complete assigned IFRS 17/PSAK 117 accounting entries, closing schedules, supporting analyses, and financial reporting packages in accordance with the established reporting calendar. Validate the completeness and accuracy of source data and outputs, ensure consistency with accounting policies and prior-period reporting, obtain the required review or approval, and submit final deliverables to relevant local and regional stakeholders within agreed timelines.
2. Prepare and maintain account reconciliations. Reconcile assigned general ledger balances and IFRS 17 reporting outputs to relevant sub-ledgers, actuarial results, system reports, or other supporting records. Investigate reconciling items, unusual movements, and period-on-period variances; document the analysis and root cause; discuss findings with relevant teams; and monitor agreed adjustments or corrective actions through timely resolution.
3. Perform assigned financial control activities over accounting data and reporting. Execute and document controls are designed to confirm the completeness, accuracy, authorization, and traceability of accounting data, journal entries, reconciliations, and reporting outputs. Retain appropriate evidence of control performance, identify exceptions or control gaps, assess their potential reporting impact, and coordinate with relevant data, system, accounting, or process owners to support remediation and prevent recurrence.
4. Support external audit requirements related to IFRS 17. Prepare accurate, complete, and audit-ready working papers, account analyses, reconciliations, movement explanations, control evidence, and other supporting documentation. Coordinate the timely provision of requested information, respond to audit queries in collaboration with relevant stakeholders, maintain a clear audit trail, and follow up on outstanding requests or findings until closure.
5. Coordinate resolution of IFRS 17 accounting and reporting issues. Work with Accounting, Actuarial, Regional, Technology, and other relevant stakeholders to clarify requirements, assess accounting or reporting implications, identify root causes, and agree practical corrective actions. Maintain visibility of key issues, owners, dependencies, and target dates; follow up on progress; communicate risks or delays; and escalat material or unresolved matters to the IFRS 17 & Project Lead to support timely and accurate delivery.
6. Monitor monthly balance sheet accounts reconciliations and aging. Track the timely completion and review of monthly balance sheet account reconciliations, monitor the aging of outstanding reconciling items, follow up with relevant account owners on overdue or long-outstanding items, and elevate significant issues to support timely resolution and maintain balance sheet integrity.
