Job summary

Unilever PLC is seeking a First Line Manager to run the Hydrogenation Plant in Sei Mangkei, North Sumatra. You will lead day-to-day operations to meet product specs, production targets, and customer requirements while ensuring process safety, quality, and cost efficiency.

You will drive continuous improvement, manage utilities and yield, and mentor the operations team. Strong English, governance with ISO/GMP standards, and a hands-on leadership style are required.

Qualifications

• Engineering degree in Chemical, Mechanical, Industrial or related field.
• Minimum 5 years (Diploma 3) or 3 years (Bachelor) experience in manufacturing or related process industry.
• Experience supervising operators or leading an operational team.

Responsibilities

• Ensure compliance with quality, food safety, environmental, OH&S and process safety requirements.
• Stop plant operations if safety or emergency conditions arise.
• Execute and monitor daily production plans aligned with S&OP targets.
• Control raw materials, product quality, schedules and delivery.
• Maintain safe, reliable plant operations and minimize downtime.
• Coordinate with Maintenance, Quality Control, Planning, SHE and Engineering to resolve issues.
