Job summary

Unilever PLC is seeking a Plant Leader for Fatty Acid 2 and Hydrogenation operations in North Sumatra. The role drives safe, reliable, and cost-effective production, ensuring product quality and on-time supply to downstream and external customers.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering or related field.
• Minimum 8 years in oleochemical, chemical, or process manufacturing with leadership experience.
• Strong knowledge of oleochemical processing and hydrogenation operations.
• Solid understanding of process engineering, maintenance, SHE, and process safety.

Responsibilities

• Ensure all plant activities meet quality, food safety, environmental, health, safety, and process-safety requirements.
• Lead response to operational disturbances and emergencies, including investigation and corrective actions.
• Maintain safe, stable, and reliable plant operations with minimal downtime and losses.
• Coordinate with Maintenance, Engineering, Quality, and Supply Chain to meet production targets.
• Make timely operational decisions to protect people, assets, and production continuity.
• Set workforce requirements, roles, and performance expectations for plant operations.
• Develop team competencies through training, coaching, and competency management.
• Evaluate performance, provide feedback, and plan succession and career development.
• Monitor production performance and product quality; drive improvements for stability and efficiency.
• Lead environmental and safety risk assessments and maintain a clean, safe workplace.
• Prepare and manage the budget; drive yield optimization and cost efficiency initiatives.
• Build cross-functional collaboration to resolve constraints and improve end-to-end performance.
