Manulife Health Pricing Team is seeking a seasoned leader to oversee pricing delivery, governance and portfolio management for health products. The role partners with Product Prop/Development, Distribution, Finance and Risk to translate insights into practical pricing actions.

You will mentor the team, maintain robust documentation and drive high-quality outputs that support product profitability and sustainability.

Qualifikationen

• Bachelor's degree in Actuarial Science, Mathematics, Statistics, Finance or a related discipline; postgraduate degree is an advantage.
• Associate actuarial qualification or progress toward fellowship; fellowship is an advantage.
• At least 7 years of actuarial experience, including health pricing product development, repricing or portfolio management.
• Experience leading projects and reviewing the work of other actuaries; prior people-management experience is an advantage.
• Strong understanding of actuarial pricing concepts, profitability measures, financial reporting and health or life insurance products.
• Ability to structure analysis, form sound recommendations and explain conclusions in plain language.
• Strong stakeholder management, planning and communication skills; confident to challenge and elevate appropriately.
• High standards of accuracy, documentation, professional judgement and integrity.

Aufgaben

• Lead and coordinate pricing activities for health products, enhancements, repricing and portfolio actions.
• Develop and review premium rates, pricing assumptions and profitability results in cross-functional collaboration.
• Balance profitability, customer value, distribution needs and long-term sustainability when developing recommendations.
• Maintain workplans, timelines; promptly elevate delays and decisions to Health Pricing Officer.
• Provide hands-on actuarial analysis and modelling support for complex initiatives.
• Partner with Experience Study and Health Analytics to assess claims, persistency and portfolio experience.
• Translate experience into pricing, repricing and portfolio management options with financial and implementation implications.
• Monitor performance against pricing expectations and identify risks and opportunities.
• Support governance, documentation and audit-ready pricing records.
• Ensure pricing work follows policies and regulatory expectations.
• Perform peer review of models, assumptions, calculations, profitability metrics and documentation.
• Identify material pricing and portfolio risks; elevate for independent review or senior approval.
• Support model governance and remediation with clear ownership.
• Contribute actuarial insight through product development from concept to post-launch monitoring.
• Coordinate inputs with implementation teams to reflect rates in systems and documents.
• Prepare pricing recommendations for governance forums and senior stakeholders.
• Coordinate with Product Management and Distribution to shape propositions.
• Respond to internal/regulatory queries related to health pricing.
• Team leadership: coach, develop, build tools and templates; foster learning.
• Act as delegate for Health Pricing Officer on operational matters.
• Support annual planning and management reporting for health business.
