Job summary

Fivelements Ubud seeks a Head Therapist (Spa Supervisor) to lead the therapy team and uphold our signature holistic healing standards. The role partners with the Healing & Wellness management team to supervise daily operations, coach therapists, perform assessments, and deliver treatments when needed to ensure guests receive exceptional, personalized care.

Ideal candidates have 4–5 years of hands-on spa experience, 1–2 years in a leadership role, and strong English communication.

Qualifications

• Diploma in Spa Therapy, Beauty Therapy, Wellness or Hospitality.
• Certification in Spa Therapy, Massage Therapy or relevant wellness treatments is preferred.
• 4–5 years hands-on experience as a Spa or Wellness Therapist.
• 1–2 years in a Senior Therapist, Therapist Supervisor or similar leadership role.
• Strong practical knowledge of massage techniques, body treatments and holistic wellness therapies.
• Balinese Healing: experience with traditional Balinese healing techniques is highly desirable.
• Training Experience: experience conducting therapist training and practical treatment assessments is an advantage.
• English language skills (spoken and written) required.

Responsibilities

• Treatment standards: Ensure all treatments follow Fivelements Ubud's established protocols and service standards, with regular assessments to keep technique excellent and consistent.
• Therapist supervision: Supervise and guide the therapists' daily activities, running daily briefings on treatment schedules, guest preferences and operational priorities.
• Coaching and development: Provide continuous coaching, mentoring and technical support to the therapy team.
• Guest care: Ensure therapists provide personalised, attentive and intuitive treatments that protect guest privacy, comfort, dignity and confidentiality. Perform treatments when required.
• Quality improvement: Monitor guest feedback and recommend improvements, supporting management in reviewing treatment protocols and wellness experiences.
• Brand knowledge: Maintain a strong working knowledge of Fivelements Ubud's signature treatments, products and holistic healing philosophy.

Fivelements Ubud is the original home of Fivelements, set in tropical gardens along the banks of Bali's sacred Ayung River. Intimate in scale, the retreat brings together Balinese healing traditions, plant-forward cuisine, mindful movement and restorative hospitality in a setting with its own distinct sense of place.

We are looking for a Head Therapist (Spa Supervisor) to lead our therapy team and keep the quality of every treatment consistently high. Working closely with the Healing & Wellness management team, the Head Therapist supervises the therapists day to day, runs treatment assessments and coaching, and performs treatments when needed. The aim is for every guest to receive care that reflects Fivelements' signature protocols and holistic healing philosophy.

What We Are Looking For:

• Education: A minimum of a diploma in Spa Therapy, Beauty Therapy, Wellness, Hospitality or a related discipline.
• Certification: Recognised professional certification in Spa Therapy, Massage Therapy or relevant wellness treatments is preferred.
• Experience: At least 4-5 years of hands-on experience as a Spa or Wellness Therapist, preferably in a luxury resort, five-star spa or holistic wellness retreat.
• Leadership: At least 1-2 years as a Senior Therapist, Therapist Supervisor or in a similar leadership position.
• Technical Skills: Strong practical knowledge of massage techniques, body treatments and holistic wellness therapies.
• Balinese Healing: Experience with traditional Balinese healing techniques is highly desirable.
• Training Experience: Previous experience conducting therapist training and practical treatment assessments is an advantage.
• Language: Good spoken and written English.
