Job summary

Star Energy Geothermal is seeking a Grid & Interconnection Engineer to coordinate and manage all technical aspects of grid connection across project lifecycles. You will liaise with PLN and engineering stakeholders to ensure alignment between engineering, commercial, and regulatory requirements.

The role requires 5–10+ years in grid connection or transmission, with familiarity of PLN environments. You will oversee design studies, technical communications, and approvals, while supporting PPA

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or master’s degree in electrical engineering or related discipline.
• 5–10+ years of experience in grid connection or transmission projects.
• Experience working with PLN or Indonesian grid environment is highly preferred.

Responsibilities

• Managing studies for electrical, substation and transmission line design.
• Managing grid connection studies for each project.
• Assess grid capacity constraints and identify reinforcement requirements.
• Serve as the primary technical counterpart to PLN, maintenance contractors, AMDAL consultants, engineering consultants etc.
• Manage all technical-related communications, submissions, and technical clarifications.
• Coordinate input for technical studies and respond to technical queries.
• Validate assumptions used in AEP and financial models.
• Define high-level design of substations, protection systems.
• Ensure all works comply with PLN grid codes and other applicable standards.
• Coordinate preparation of Single Line Diagrams and technical documents by consultants or contractors.
• Support PPA discussions by providing technical input and risks associated with grid connection, wind turbines and BESS dispatch etc.

Job description

The Grid & Interconnection Engineer is responsible for coordinating and managing all technical aspects of grid connection for project pipelines across the development lifecycle. This may include but is not limited to coordinating maintenance of existing, coordinating with technical stakeholders such as PLN and/or its subsidiaries, engineering consultants, EPC contractors, OEM etc. and ensuring alignment between engineering, commercial, and regulatory requirements.

The role acts as the technical interface with the project stakeholders and ensures that technical risks are proactively identified and mitigated to enable successful project delivery.

Responsibilities
