The role acts as a bridge to a Chinese-speaking business environment, requiring fluency in Mandarin, Indonesian, and English, with strong stakeholder management to navigate regulatory requirements and support business growth.

Qualificações

Our client, a manufacturing company based in Central Java, is seeking a Government Relations & External Affairs professional to strengthen engagement with Indonesian government institutions, industry associations, and strategic external stakeholders. The role will support business growth by navigating regulatory requirements, managing government-related matters, and fostering strong external partnerships.

A key aspect of the position is acting as a bridge between Indonesian stakeholders and a Chinese-speaking business environment. Therefore, the successful candidate must be fluent in Mandarin, Indonesian, and English, with strong stakeholder management and relationship-building capabilities.

Key Responsibilities

• Build and maintain trusted working relationships with central and local government institutions, including investment, industry, trade and regional authorities
• Engage regularly with key officials and stay informed of policy and regulatory developments
• Develop relationships with industry associations, peer organizations, strategic partners and other stakeholders
• Support business expansion, resource integration and cross-sector collaboration
• Monitor Indonesian laws, regulations, industrial policies and investment policies
• Assess business implications and provide practical recommendations for strategic planning and compliant operations
• Coordinate government-related processes, including project approvals, permits, qualifications and applications for policy support
• Follow up with the relevant stakeholders and help resolve issues affecting business progress
• Coordinate government- and media-related matters with internal or external PR teams
• Respond to stakeholder concerns, identify government-relations and policy risks, and support mitigation plans

Requirements

• Native-level Indonesian and fluent Mandarin (spoken and written)
• Bachelor’s degree or above
• Public Administration, International Relations, Business Administration, Law or a related discipline is preferred
• Demonstrated ability to engage government stakeholders, build long-term relationships and expand external networks
• Relevant experience in government affairs, external affairs, public affairs, regulatory affairs or a closely related function is preferred
• An established local stakeholder network is a strong advantage
