Job summary

Volex in Batam, Indonesia, is seeking an experienced Purchasing / Materials Planning professional to manage contract manufacturing and ensure material availability aligned with forecast and backlog. You will oversee inventory levels, coordinate with internal teams, and resolve supply, logistics, and customs issues to meet monthly targets.

The role requires a Diploma or Bachelor’s in a relevant field, 5+ years in purchasing or materials planning in manufacturing, strong English and Indonesian

Qualifications

• Diploma or Bachelor's degree (or higher) in a relevant field.
• 5+ years of experience in purchasing or materials planning within manufacturing.
• Strong English and Indonesian communication; Chinese is a plus.
• Experience with ERP systems such as SAP or EPICOR and MS Office.
• Ability to coordinate with global teams and drive results.

Responsibilities

• Reports to General Manager (GM).
• Manage third-party partners for accurate material positioning per plans.
• Oversee end-of-life processes to minimize excess/obsolete costs.
• Support NPI projects by ensuring material availability and avoiding delays.
• Execute inventory, demand planning, logistics, and import/export processes.
• Perform demand-supply matching and connect planning to execution.
• Drive backlog analysis and provide actionable insights.
• Collect demand data from factories, regions, and accounts for forecasting.
• Collaborate with regional planning teams to improve processes.
• Monitor metrics, prepare reports, identify improvement opportunities.
• Contribute to priority projects; may lead projects or teams.
