Job summary

A manufacturing company in Depok, Cimanggis is seeking a Foundry Assistant Manager to oversee melting, molding, core making, pouring, heat treatment and finishing in the pump division.

The role requires 3+ years in an assistant manager or supervisory capacity and 7+ years in foundry operations, with metallurgy knowledge for cast iron, ductile iron, or stainless steel used in water pump components.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Metallurgical Engineering or Mechanical Engineering.
• 3+ years in an assistant manager or supervisory role.
• 7+ years in foundry operations, preferably in a Japanese manufacturing company.
• Experience with metallurgy related to cast iron, ductile iron, or stainless steel for water pump components.

Responsibilities

• Plan, organize, and control foundry operations (melting, molding, core making, pouring, heat treatment, finishing).
• Ensure casting meets quality and metallurgical specifications.
• Monitor production schedules with PPIC and production teams.
• Supervise foundry staff, shift allocation, and performance monitoring.
• Support HSE compliance in the foundry area.
• Analyze casting defects and implement corrective actions to improve yield and reduce scrap.
• Coordinate with QC, Engineering, and Maintenance to resolve issues.
• Support cost control (raw materials, energy, efficiency).
• Participate in Kaizen and standardization activities.
• Prepare and review production, quality, and operational reports.

Our client is a Manufacturing (Machinery, pump) company. Currently, they are looking for Foundry Assistant Manager.

Job Responsibilities:

• Assist in planning, organizing, and controlling foundry operations, including melting, molding, core making, pouring, heat treatment, and finishing processes.
• Ensure casting processes meet quality, dimensional, and metallurgical requirements according to specifications and standards.
• Monitor production schedules and ensure on-time delivery in coordination with PPIC and production teams.
• Supervise foundry staff, including shift allocation, work instructions, performance monitoring, and skill development.
• Support implementation and compliance with safety, health, and environmental (HSE) regulations in the foundry area.
• Assist in analyzing casting defects (e.g., porosity, shrinkage, misruns) and implement corrective and preventive actions to improve yield and reduce scrap.
• Coordinate with Quality Control, Engineering, and Maintenance teams to resolve production and quality issues.
• Support cost control initiatives, including raw material usage, energy consumption, and process efficiency.
• Participate in continuous improvement, kaizen, and standardization activities.
• Prepare and review production, quality, and operational reports for management.
• Perform other tasks as assigned.

Job Requirements:

• Bachelor's degree in Metallurgical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field.
• Minimum 3 years of experience in an Assistant Manager or supervisory role and 7 years of experience in foundry operations, preferably in a Japanese manufacturing company.
• Strong understanding of metallurgy related to cast iron, ductile iron, or stainless steel commonly used in water pump components, as well as foundry processes including melting, casting, molding, and heat treatment.
• Knowledge of ISO 9001 and proficiency in Microsoft Office.
• Strong leadership and team management skills, with good problem-solving and analytical abilities.
