Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO) in Indonesia seeks a GIS/Remote Sensing and MRV Specialist to support NFMS, NFI 2.0 and MERANTI activities. The role involves managing geospatial data, processing satellite imagery and linking field data with space-based datasets to improve forest monitoring and carbon accounting.

You will work under FAO Indonesia representations, collaborating with national authorities, consultants and technical teams to ensure data interoperability

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Geography, Geodesy, Geomatics, Forestry, Environmental Science or a related field.
• Minimum 5 years of relevant GIS/remote sensing experience.
• Working knowledge of English and Bahasa Indonesia (written and spoken).
• Indonesian nationality.

Responsabilités

• Manage and maintain GIS databases, datasets and spatial layers for NFMS, NFI 2.0 and MRV activities.
• Provide GIS support for NFI 2.0 implementation including plotting, sampling and mapping.
• Process satellite imagery and other remotely sensed data for forest monitoring and MRV.
• Integrate field data with GIS, satellite data and LiDAR for NFMS analyses.
• Produce GIS outputs and QA/QC maps; document workflows and tools used (SEPAL, Google Earth Engine).
• Provide technical assistance to national consultants and coordinate with project teams.
