Job summary

Worley is seeking a Field Engineer - Electrical and Instrument for a mining project in Sulawesi Tenggara. You will provide day-to-day field engineering support and supervision of E&I construction activities, ensuring compliance with drawings, specifications, ITPs, and project requirements.

The role requires a Bachelor’s degree in Electrical, Instrumentation, or Control engineering and 8–12+ years of site experience in mining or heavy industry.

• Bachelor degree in Electrical/Instrumentation/Control engineering or related field.
• 8–12+ years of relevant E&I construction/site supervision experience.
• Experience on mining, mineral processing, or large industrial projects preferred.
• PMC/EPCM/EPC or Owner's Engineer environment experience is highly preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide day-to-day field engineering support and technical supervision for E&I construction activities.
• Monitor and verify contractor activities for compliance with drawings, specs, ITPs, and project requirements.
• Review electrical and instrumentation drawings and ensure proper installation and test activities.
• Coordinate and monitor cable pulling, glanding, termination, testing, and commissioning.
• Witness inspections and testing per approved ITPs; assist with non-conformance resolution.

Responsibilities include:

• Provide day-to-day field engineering support and technical supervision for Electrical & Instrumentation (E&I) construction activities.
• Monitor and verify contractor activities to ensure compliance with approved drawings, specifications, method statements, ITPs, and project requirements.
• Review and provide technical input on electrical and instrumentation drawings, including single-line diagrams, cable schedules, termination diagrams, instrument hook-ups, loop diagrams, layouts, and installation details.
• Monitor instrumentation installation, including field instruments, control panels, junction boxes, instrument cabling, tubing, impulse lines, and control systems.
• Coordinate and monitor cable pulling, glanding, termination, testing, and commissioning activities.
• Monitor instrument installation and support loop checking, calibration, functional testing, and commissioning.
• Review contractor method statements, inspection requests, test reports, and quality documentation.
• Witness and verify electrical and instrumentation inspections and testing in accordance with approved Inspection and Test Plans (ITPs).
• Identify construction issues, design discrepancies, and technical queries and coordinate with the PMC engineering team for resolution.
• Review RFI/TQ submissions, NCRs, punch lists, and site technical issues and ensure timely close-out.
• Monitor contractor progress against the approved construction schedule and milestones, identifying potential delays and recommending corrective actions.
• Coordinate E&I activities with Civil, Structural, Mechanical, Process, Piping, and Commissioning teams to ensure effective multidisciplinary execution.
• Ensure proper interface management between electrical, instrumentation, control systems, utilities, and other mining infrastructure facilities.
• Monitor contractor compliance with HSE requirements, including electrical safety, isolation/LOTO, working at height, excavation, lifting, and other site-specific requirements.
• Participate in site inspections, coordination meetings, progress meetings, construction reviews, and commissioning activities.
• Verify completed works and support preparation of as-built drawings, handover dossiers, test records, and final documentation.
• Support the PMC team in monitoring contractor performance, quality, schedule, and technical compliance throughout construction.
• Provide technical assistance during pre-commissioning, commissioning, start-up, and handover activities.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Instrumentation Engineering, Control Engineering, or a related discipline.
• Typically 8–12+ years of relevant experience in Electrical & Instrumentation construction, field engineering, or site supervision.
• Proven experience working on mining, mineral processing, mining infrastructure, heavy industry, or large industrial projects.
• Previous experience in a PMC, EPCM, EPC, or Owner's Engineer environment is highly preferred.
• Strong site experience in the installation, inspection, testing, and commissioning of electrical and instrumentation systems.
• Experience with MV/LV systems, substations, switchgear, MCCs, transformers, cables, earthing, lighting, and electrical distribution systems.
• Experience with instrumentation systems, including field instruments, control valves, junction boxes, instrument cabling, loop checking, calibration, and functional testing.
• Ability to interpret and review electrical and instrumentation drawings, datasheets, specifications, cable schedules, termination diagrams, loop diagrams, and P&IDs.
• Good understanding of electrical and instrumentation construction methodologies, inspection and testing requirements, and commissioning practices.
• Familiarity with applicable IEC, IEEE, NFPA, ISA, and relevant local/project standards.
• Strong understanding of QA/QC requirements, ITPs, NCRs, punch lists, and construction documentation.
• Good understanding of HSE requirements and safe work practices in a mining/construction environment.
• Strong communication and coordination skills, with the ability to work effectively with clients, contractors, vendors, and multidisciplinary PMC teams.
• Good command of written and spoken English.
• Willingness to work on a remote mining project/site rotation, if required
