Job summary

Mercy Corps Indonesia is seeking a Community Engagement Officer to operate in Maluku, conducting socio-economic baselines, community forums, and inclusive engagement with village stakeholders. The role demands strong field presence, data collection, and translation between Bahasa Indonesia, Ambonese dialects, and English.

You will work directly with communities to ensure voices inform renewable energy design, governance, and capacity-building activities, including safeguarding and gender equity

Qualifications

• University degree or equivalent field experience in socio-economic development or related social science.
• Experience in community mobilization, rural development, or social impact assessment in NGO/INGO settings.
• Strong English writing and speaking; Bahasa Indonesia mandatory; local Ambonese/Maluku dialects advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Field execution of social assessments and engagement tools with village communities.
• Administer data collection using household surveys, FGDs, and KIIs; map stakeholders; profile communities.
