PT Siobhan Fionnuala Clothing in Bali, Indonesia is seeking a skilled Lead for end-to-end sample development. You will manage the design/sample team, develop technical packs, and coordinate with suppliers to ensure production readiness.
The role requires strong English, 3D rendering experience (CLO 3D), and a solid track record in garment development, with attention to detail and client communication throughout the process.
- Manage the End-to-End Sample Development Process
Lead sample development from initial concept through final approved sample, including spec sheets, pattern making, fabric sourcing, dyeing, printing, sewing, fitting, QC, and handover to production.
- Lead & Supervise the Design and Sample Team
Manage, coordinate, and support the design/sample team, ensuring tasks are clearly assigned, timelines are maintained, and quality standards are met.
- Develop Technical Design Documentation
Create and review accurate flat drawings, technical drawings, spec sheets, tech packs, measurements, BOMs, construction details, and garment layouts, ensuring all information is clear and production-ready.
- Manage Sample Tracking & Documentation
Maintain accurate sample status, production schedules, G-Drive folders, digital filing systems, patterns, sample photos, approved references, and all relevant development documentation.
- Oversee Sample Quality & Technical Accuracy
Review every sample against the approved spec sheet and design requirements. Ensure QC has the latest specifications, construction details, accessory information, and approved references before samples are sent to clients.
Liaise with fabric and trim suppliers, pattern makers, sewers, printers, dyers, and other vendors. Follow up on fabric development, strike-offs, dyeing, printing, trims, and sample progress to meet deadlines.
- Manage Costing & Material Records
Prepare and maintain sample and production costing, including fabric, trims, accessories, and other development expenses. Ensure all material usage and costs are properly recorded and handed over to the Production Manager.
- Client Communication & Design Development
Communicate confidently with clients regarding design development, sample feedback, technical requirements, revisions, and approvals. Assist in making design decisions and proposing appropriate technical or design solutions.
- Fashion Research, Design & Creative Support
Conduct market, competitor, and fashion trend research. Support the creation of mood boards, trend boards, sketches, renders, and 3D designs where applicable, as well as photo shoots, workshops, pop-ups, events, and other creative projects.
Ensure all approved samples, patterns, spec sheets, costing, QC information, and client approvals are complete and accurately handed over to the Production Manager and relevant team before production begins.
- Minimum 3 years' experience in fashion design, garment development, sample management, or a similar role.
- Tertiary qualification in Fashion Design, Garment Technology, or related field is desirable.
- Strong English communication skills, written and verbal.
- Strong skills in fashion flat drawing, technical drawing, spec sheets, and tech pack development.
- Experience with rendering and 3D fashion design software (CLO 3D) is a strong advantage.
- Strong understanding of fashion design and garment development, from concept through sampling to production.
- Detailed knowledge of pattern making, sewing construction, fabric behaviour, garment finishing, and QC.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel.
- Excellent client communication, organizational, leadership, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work under pressure, manage multiple projects and short deadlines, and deliver high-quality, outcome-driven results with exceptional attention to detail.
