POSITION SUMMARY:
Responsible for diagnosing, troubleshooting, and resolving product failures during production, ensuring high-quality output and minimal downtime. Also responsible for bridging design, testing, quality and production teams to maintain efficiency, reliability, and continuous improvement in manufacturing processes.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
- Diploma or bachelor’s degree in electrical/electronic/mechatronic engineering.
- Minimum of 5 years in the field and experience is required.
- Knowledge in equipment and tester operation & development, PCBA Process Knowledge, DFM & DFA.
- Good understanding and familiar with IPC Standard about printed circuits, printed circuit assemblies, process and inspections/tests.
- Strong knowledge with hands-on experience related to test/debug methods, electronics troubleshooting, programming/debugging.
- Good troubleshooter and problem solver
- Understand basic HSE of manufacturing and testing operation
- Ability to multitask, communicate effectively with cross-functional teams, flexible, self-dependent with an ability to work well under pressure and given deadlines.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
1) Troubleshooting and Debugging:
- Reproducing, analyzing and isolating the defect in hardware/circuit of product-related issues from both internal (manufacturing) and external (customer, supplier)
- Using various tools for measurements and to analyze the failed products, such as:
- Altium/LabVIEW/Auto CAD/with Mechanical Drawing,
- Electrical and Electronic Schematic interpretation & analysis,
- bench test set up with power up test and electrical functional
- Diagnose root causes of product failures and recommend repair actions at the finished product and PCBA level
- RMA and simulations for the failed units from the customers
- Providing initial assistance related to the false failures of testing equipment (EOLT)
2) Communicate and collaborate with the internal and external team, and the suppliers (Production, Quality, NPI, Process, External EE, and Internal Engineering)
- Verifying the testing of failed products at both finished goods and PCBA level
- System-level failures and process analysis related to the PCBA and EOL testing process
- Collaborate with the Supplier Quality Engineer (SQE) team for any PCBA supplier related issues and for regular problem-solving meetings
- Constantly challenging the improvements related to the workmanship issue for both internal and external cases.
4) Support NPI and Production:
- Providing NPI products analysis for design review (prototype, SW & HW)
- Testing and measurement analysis for BOM and development
- Tester development verification in coordination with the test engineer
- Programming and debugging relevant to testing processes
5) Equipment Development and Management
- Manage and maintain the storage all equipment and parts under his responsibility according to 6S methodology
- Manage and maintain the calibration all measurement equipment under his responsibility
- Develop, setup, modify and validate safe launch equipment
6) Documentation and Reporting:
- Pre-failure analysis reports for internal review
- Confirmation analysis report upon complete analysis of the failed products
- Weekly reports and monthly reports for reviewing the failure status, failure source and the progress from debugging.
7) People Development
- Collaborating with HR TAD to develop and review the training program for new FA technicians
- Providing training and mentoring for new FA technicians
- Support the onboarding program of new Test Engineer
