Barry Callebaut Group is seeking an Operations Manager to lead manufacturing activities in Bandung, driving safety, quality, and efficiency. You will manage daily operations, develop talent, and implement lean initiatives to achieve short- and mid-term goals in a food manufacturing setting.

The role requires strong technical background, Unions/Works Council experience, and a commitment to continuous improvement and regulatory compliance.

Qualifications

• Bachelor or Master degree in engineering or a technical field.
• Minimum 5 years of experience as Operations Manager or Production Manager in food manufacturing.
• Advanced English proficiency.
• Knowledge of MS Office Suite, SAP, CMMS, MES and other manufacturing applications.
• Strong technical background to support continuous improvement.
• Proven business and people management skills.
• Experience leading operational teams and unions/works council contexts.
• Deep knowledge of plant and manufacturing functional disciplines.
• Change management mindset focused on lean principles and people development.
• Knowledge of latest quality and safety laws and regulations.
• Strong focus on standardizing procedures.
• Willingness to be placed in Bandung.

Responsibilities

• Ensure safety of all employees and comply with safety, food safety, and environmental regulations.
• Collaborate with QA to implement and maintain the quality management system.
• Lead day-to-day factory operations to meet short- and mid-term objectives in line with the master plan.
• Hire and develop people, foster learning, growth, and cross-functional collaboration.
• Model Barry Callebaut values and servant leadership.
• Support budgeting, monitor costs, and optimize production resources.
• Identify and implement lean improvements and new technologies to reduce waste.
• Manage facilities and assets to maintain hygienic conditions.
• Oversee maintenance and repair of equipment to minimize downtime and ensure smooth production.
