Job summary

Worley in Jakarta is seeking a Senior Civil Engineer (Foundation) to take ownership of foundation design packages from design basis through construction-ready issuance. You will develop foundations for overland conveyors, crushers, and related infrastructure, coordinating with geotechnical inputs and other disciplines.

The role requires 10+ years of civil/structural experience, expertise in reinforced-concrete foundations, and strong English communication.

Qualifications

What you will do:

• Take ownership of assigned foundation design packages and progress them from design basis through detailed design and construction-ready issue.
• Develop foundation solutions for overland and feeder conveyor support structures, ground-module sleepers, trestles and transfer stations.
• Develop foundation designs for primary crusher and stockpile/reclaim-related infrastructure where included within the assigned structural package.
• Undertake structural design of reinforced-concrete foundations, pedestals, plinths, pile caps, piles and anchor systems as applicable to the package.
• Assess foundation performance for relevant loading conditions, including bearing, sliding, uplift, overturning, settlement and dynamic effects, in coordination with geotechnical inputs.
• Interpret and coordinate equipment layouts, certified or approved loads, geometry, support locations and interface information from mechanical/OEM and other discipline inputs.
• Work closely with geotechnical engineers to establish appropriate founding conditions, design parameters, piling requirements and ground-related assumptions.
• Prepare and check engineering calculations, design notes, reports, technical specifications, drawing inputs, material take-offs and quantity information.
• Provide clear engineering direction to structural designers and drafters for assigned packages and review models and drawings for alignment with the engineering design.
• Coordinate foundation interfaces with grading, earthworks, drainage, access, retaining structures, utilities and construction requirements.
• Identify missing inputs, design risks and interface constraints early and work with the relevant discipline leads to develop practical resolutions.
• Contribute to constructability and safety-in-design reviews, staged design reviews, comment resolution and technical queries.
• Participate in site visits and project coordination activities where required.

What you will have:

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil or Structural Engineering.
• Typically 10 or more years of relevant civil structural engineering experience, with strong exposure to concrete foundations for industrial, materials-handling or heavy civil infrastructure. Candidates with a particularly strong combination of relevant technical experience and project complexity are encouraged to express interest.
• Practical experience in reinforced-concrete foundation design, including shallow and/or piled foundations, pedestals, pile caps, anchors and equipment-support interfaces.
• Experience evaluating foundation stability and serviceability under combinations of gravity, operational, dynamic, wind and seismic effects, as applicable to the project.
• Ability to interpret geotechnical recommendations and incorporate bearing, settlement and ground-condition considerations into structural foundation design.
• Experience preparing and checking engineering calculations and coordinating construction-ready drawings and specifications.
• Working knowledge of applicable project standards and recognised structural design standards such as ACI, AS/AS-NZS, ASCE or other relevant international codes.
• Good professional English communication and a collaborative approach to multidisciplinary design coordination.
• Holding “Surat Tanda RegistrasiInsinyur (STRI)” or certificate of competency is highly preferable
