Job summary

Worley is seeking a Senior Bridge Engineer in Jakarta Timur with 15+ years of bridge-engineering experience to lead design basis, criteria and loading assumptions, while mentoring the structural team.

You will guide development of bridge forms and superstructure layouts, coordinate with geotechnical conditions and water-resources specialists, and advise on seismic and durability requirements to ensure safe, cost-effective solutions.

Qualifications

• 15+ years of bridge-engineering experience in a discipline-lead / technical-authority capacity.
• Professional registration or chartered structural-engineer status, or eligibility to obtain it.
• Clear technical writing and professional English communication.

Responsibilities

• Guide the bridge design basis, criteria, loading assumptions, durability requirements and assurance approach.
• Lead the development and optimisation of bridge forms, spans, superstructures, substructures, foundations, approaches and crossing locations.
• Advise on vehicle, dead, dynamic, braking, wind, seismic, hydraulic, debris, scour and construction loading.
• Coordinate bridge foundations with site-specific geotechnical conditions.
• Work with water-resources specialists on waterway openings, afflux, blockage, freeboard, scour protection and river interfaces.
• Consider bridge approaches, retaining elements, temporary access, crane and laydown requirements and erection methodology.
• Review bridge and culvert alternatives with regard to safety, performance, cost, schedule and constructability.
• Provide technical assurance for calculations, models, drawings, specifications, quantities and staged submissions, while mentoring the structural team.

Qualifications

• A degree in Civil or Structural Engineering; a relevant postgraduate qualification would be advantageous.
• Typically 15 or more years of bridge-engineering experience, including meaningful experience in a discipline-lead, technical-authority or principal-level capacity.
• Strong experience in bridge analysis, seismic design, substructures, foundations, durability and constructability.
• Professional registration or chartered structural-engineer status, or eligibility to obtain it.
• Clear technical writing, checking and professional English communication.
