We are looking for an accomplished Executive Contract Manager to lead commercial contract negotiations for strategic and complex projects. This position will act as the chief contract negotiator, working closely with senior customer stakeholders, including C-level executives, to secure commercially sound agreements while protecting the company's contractual and financial interests.
The successful candidate should possess extensive experience in negotiating large-scale contracts, managing contractual risks, resolving disputes, and translating negotiation outcomes into clear and enforceable contract documents.
Key responsibilities
- Serve as the chief negotiator for sales contracts involving strategic, large-scale, and complex projects.
- Lead contract negotiations from initial preparation through final agreement and contract execution.
- Identify and mitigate key commercial, legal, financial, and operational risks within contracts.
- Ensure negotiated agreements comply with the company's contract quality standards, policies, and commercial objectives.
- Establish and maintain effective communication with key customers and C-level stakeholders.
- Understand customer requirements and provide timely and practical solutions to critical contractual issues.
- Manage and resolve contract disputes, claims, penalties, variations, and other contractual changes.
- Translate commercial negotiation outcomes directly into accurate and enforceable contract documents.
- Support the Contract Commerce Director in managing contract quality and compliance across the representative office.
- Develop the organisation's contract negotiation capabilities through internal training, knowledge sharing, and best-practice guidance.
About you
- Minimum bachelor's degree in international Trade, International Finance, International Economic Law, International Project Management, Business, Law, or another relevant discipline.
- At least 10 years of relevant industry experience.
- Extensive hands-on experience independently leading negotiations for multiple large-scale and complex projects.
- Strong knowledge of commercial practices, economics, finance, and legal or contractual matters.
- In-depth understanding of contract structures and principles.
- Familiarity with internationally recognised contract templates, particularly FIDIC, is strongly preferred.
- Proven ability to convert negotiation outcomes into comprehensive contract documents.
- Experience managing major contract disputes, claims, penalties, variations, and contractual changes is highly preferred.
- Strong communication, negotiation, stakeholder management, and cross-functional collaboration skills.
- Confident in communicating and negotiating directly with C-level executives and senior customer stakeholders.
