Job summary

Flex is seeking an Engineering Manager in Batam, Indonesia to lead manufacturing engineering efforts for MP, driving process improvements and coordinating SMT, Backend Assembly and Test teams.

The role emphasizes automation, quality, and capacity building to meet customer and product requirements, with a focus on continuous improvement, data-driven decisions, and strong leadership in electronics manufacturing.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in mechanical / manufacturing / process / engineering.
• 8+ years in Manufacturing engineering with electronics industry experience.
• Familiar with SMA & Assembly, Test processes and equipment.
• Lean Manufacturing and Six-Sigma knowledge.
• Industrial 4.0 and digitalization understanding.
• Strong communication and leadership skills.
• Fluent English, written and spoken.

Responsibilities

• Handle manufacturing process and equipment for MP
• Lead engineering activities across functions
• SMT: Optimize SPI/AOI/AXI
• Backend Assembly: automation for quality
• Test: firmware download, electrical function test, burn-in, analysis
• Build machine capacity to meet requirements
• Move TPI products from test to qualified MP
• Drive continuous improvement via cross-functional collaboration
• SPC, Lean and Six Sigma with data analysis
• Coach engineers and technicians in teamwork
• Lead projects to meet targets
• Act as customer engineering contact
