Job summary

Cinch, Southeast Asia's leading circular tech subscription company, is seeking an Engineering Lead who blends hands-on software craft with people leadership. You'll split time ~70% coding/reviewing and ~30% leading a squad of 3–6 engineers across B2B/B2C initiatives.

You will own architecture, design high-availability systems serving thousands of customers and partners, and mentor and hire to grow the team. This role supports remote collaboration in a fast-growing company.

Qualifications

• 7+ years of software engineering experience building production systems
• 2+ years of people management experience growing engineers
• Strong hands-on experience with PHP and Laravel
• Deep expertise in React/NextJS and full-stack instincts
• Backend focus with Golang or Python and API design leadership
• Experience with distributed systems and AWS familiarity

Responsibilities

• Own architectural decisions across your product domain — setting the direction, not just contributing to it
• Design and build complex, high-availability systems that serve thousands of customers and enterprise partners
• Drive engineering quality across your squad: code reviews, observability, and reliability
• Identify systemic risks before they become incidents, and lead remediation efforts when they do
• Actively contribute to Cinch's broader engineering culture — RFCs, tech talks, cross-team design reviews
• Directly manage a squad of 3–6 engineers, including senior ICs
• Run structured 1:1s, support career development, and recruit to grow the team
• Give direct, actionable feedback — and create a culture of feedback
• Unblock your team, not just your own work
• Translate business problems into clear engineering roadmaps
• Own end-to-end lifecycle of features — from scoping to production reliability
