Job summary

Golden Agri-Resources (GAR) is seeking a Senior Electrical & Instrumentation Engineer for our Medan, Indonesia plant. You will oversee installation, calibration, testing, and commissioning of E&I systems, ensuring safe, reliable plant operations.

You will mentor technicians, coordinate with contractors, and develop preventive maintenance programs to improve efficiency and uptime. Proficiency with SAP and safety standards is essential.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in electrical, electronics or instrumentation engineering required.
• Minimum 5 years of experience in electrical & instrumentation in manufacturing or process settings.
• Familiar with safety standards (OSHA, IEC, PUIL) and electrical codes.
• Experience using SAP for maintenance planning and reporting.
• Strong problem-solving, communication, and leadership abilities.

Responsibilities

• Oversee loop checking, calibration, testing, commissioning, and maintenance of E&I equipment.
• Ensure compliance with safety standards and company HSE requirements.
• Troubleshoot complex E&I systems and identify root causes for corrective actions.
• Monitor equipment performance and recommend reliability improvements.
• Coordinate contractors and teams during maintenance, shutdowns, and commissioning.

Job Description Summary:

Responsible for overseeing the installation, loop checking, calibration, testing, commissioning, maintenance, and troubleshooting of electrical and instrumentation systems to ensure safe, reliable, and efficient plant operations.

Job Description:

• Oversee loop checking, calibration, testing, commissioning, and maintenance of new and existing electrical and instrumentation equipment.
• Ensure all electrical and instrumentation activities comply with relevant industry standards, regulations, and safety protocols (e.g., OSHA, IEC, National Electrical Code, PUIL, and company HSE requirements).
• Troubleshoot complex electrical and instrumentation equipment, control systems, and plant utilities to identify root causes and implement effective corrective actions.
• Monitor equipment performance and recommend improvements to enhance reliability, efficiency, and operational safety.
• Coordinate and supervise contractors, technicians, and project teams during maintenance, shutdown, and commissioning activities.
• Develop, review, and execute preventive and corrective maintenance programs for electrical and instrumentation systems.
• Prepare work programs, maintenance plans, technical documentation, and reports using SAP.
• Ensure timely completion of assigned projects and maintenance activities while meeting quality, safety, and operational targets.
• Mentor, coach, and train junior engineers and technicians to strengthen technical competency and team capability.
• Support emergency breakdown and provide technical assistance outside regular working hours when required.

Job Requirements:

• Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronics Engineering, Instrumentation Engineering, or a related field.
• Minimum 5 years of experience in Electrical & Instrumentation (E&I) within manufacturing or process industries.
• Familiar with relevant safety standards and regulations (OSHA, IEC, PUIL, K3 Listrik, etc.).
• Experience using SAP for maintenance planning and reporting.
• Strong problem-solving, communication, and leadership skills.
