Job summary

PT Powertek Indo Asia is seeking a proactive Proposal Engineer / Estimator to prepare technical and commercial proposals for electrical panels, switchgear, automation systems, and data centre projects.

You will review tender documents, perform material take-offs and BOQ preparation, and coordinate with Sales, Engineering, and Procurement to ensure accurate pricing and on-time submission while maintaining updated pricing databases.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Instrumentation, Mechatronics, or Industrial Engineering.
• 2–5 years of experience as a Proposal Engineer / Estimator in electrical panel, automation, or power system industry.
• Strong knowledge of LV/MV panels, MCC, switchgear, motor control, and automation systems.
• Ability to interpret technical drawings, SLD, wiring diagrams, and technical specifications.
• Proficient in AutoCAD / E-Plan and Microsoft Office, especially Excel.
• Strong analytical thinking and cost estimation skills.

Job description

Prepare technical and commercial proposals for electrical panels, switchgear, automation systems, and data centre projects.

Review and analyse tender documents, drawings, technical specifications, and scope of work.

Perform material take-off, cost estimation, and BOQ (Bill of Quantity) preparation.

Coordinate with Sales, Engineering, Procurement, and vendors to collect accurate technical data and pricing.

Identify suitable products, components, and technical solutions based on customer requirements.

Prepare or review single-line diagrams (SLD), wiring diagrams, and technical documents when needed.

Support technical clarifications, pre-bid meetings, and client discussions during the tender process.

Ensure proposals are submitted accurately, clearly, and on schedule.

Maintain updated databases of material pricing, vendor lists, and technical references.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering, Instrumentation, Mechatronics, or Industrial Engineering.

2–5 years of experience as a Proposal Engineer / Estimator in electrical panel, automation, or power system industry (preferred).

Strong knowledge of LV/MV panels, MCC, switchgear, motor control, and automation systems.

Ability to interpret technical drawings, SLD, wiring diagrams, and technical specifications.

Proficient in AutoCAD / E-Plan and Microsoft Office (especially Excel).

Strong analytical thinking and cost estimation skills.

Detail-oriented, structured, and able to work under tight deadlines.

Excellent communication and ability to coordinate across departments and with vendors.
