Job summary

AMK SOLUTIONS LTD is seeking an L2 Electrical Engineer to ensure the availability and safe operation of electrical infrastructure supporting high-density GPU racks and cooling systems. The role focuses on power inside the data hall, while BDx handles upstream power systems and equipment outside the data hall.

You will investigate alarms, monitor capacity, coordinate incident resolution, and perform preventive maintenance. A 24×7 shift/on-call availability is required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or Diploma in Electrical Engineering or equivalent.
• 3–5 years of hands-on experience operating critical electrical infrastructure.
• Experience with MV/LV switchgear, transformers, UPS, batteries, generators and related equipment.
• Ability to interpret SLDs, electrical schematics and protection diagrams.
• Experience in high-density data center electrical distribution is desirable.
• Understanding of electrical safety requirements and safe switching procedures.

Responsibilities

• Ensure availability, capacity and safe operation of electrical infrastructure inside the data hall (PDUs/busways and rack power feeds).
• Coordinate with BDx for upstream power systems and gear outside the data hall; participate in incident resolution and escalation.
• Investigate electrical alarms and power-quality issues; monitor capacity and redundancy; perform preventive maintenance and testing.
• Manage electrical switching and failover procedures and coordinate 24×7 shift/on-call support.
• Ensure compliance with safety standards, LOTO, permit-to-work, SOP/MOP/EOP and RCA processes.

Job description

The L2 Electrical Engineer is responsible for the availability, capacity and safe operation of the electrical infrastructure supporting the high-density GPU racks and cooling systems.The scope shall be limited to power inside the data hall (PDUs/busways and rack power feeds).BDx engineers shall be responsible for switchgear, transformers, UPS, generators, ATS/STS, upstream PDUs/busways and rack power feeds. Together with BDX, the scope shall include investigating electrical alarms and power-quality issues, monitors capacity and redundancy, performs preventive maintenance and testing, manages electrical switching and failover procedures, and coordinates incident resolution and escalation to L3/OEM support to minimize the risk of GPU service interruption.

Requirements

• Diploma or Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering, Electrical Power Engineering, Facilities Engineering, or equivalent recognized technical qualification.
• Minimum 3–5 years of hands‑on experience operating and maintaining mission‑critical electrical infrastructure, preferably within a data center or other 24×7 critical facility.
• Working knowledge of MV/LV switchgear, transformers, UPS, batteries, generators, ATS/STS, PDUs, RPPs, busways, circuit breakers, grounding and protection systems.
• Experience supporting high-density data center electrical distribution is highly desirable.
• Able to interpret single-line diagrams (SLDs), electrical schematics, protection diagrams and equipment technical documentation.
• Able to troubleshoot electrical faults, UPS/generator alarms, breaker trips, abnormal loading, phase imbalance and power‑quality issues.
• Understanding of electrical redundancy, selective coordination, load management, safe switching and failover procedures in mission‑critical facilities.
• Familiarity with electrical safety requirements, LOTO, permit‑to‑work, SOP/MOP/EOP, preventive maintenance, incident management and RCA.
• Able to perform or coordinate thermography, electrical testing, UPS/battery testing and generator/load‑bank testing.
• Willing and able to provide 24×7 shift/on-call support and respond to critical electrical incidents.
• Appropriate local electrical competency/licensing should be required where mandated by the jurisdiction.
