Job summary

JW Marriott is hiring for a kitchen steward role focused on clean and efficient operations. You will direct and assist stewards, maintain proper chemical levels, and support banquet plate-ups and general kitchen tasks.

Two years of related experience and at least one year in supervision are preferred. Expect physical duties, adherence to safety standards, and professional guest interaction as part of a dynamic hotel team.

Qualifications

• Education: High school diploma or G.E.D. equivalent.
• Related Work Experience: At least 2 years of related work experience.
• Supervisory Experience: At least 1 year of supervisory experience.

Responsibilities

• Direct and assist Stewards to improve cleanup efficiency.
• Ensure water temperature & chemical levels are correct and documented.
• Assist with banquet plate-ups and support banquet/buffet needs.
• Assist cooks and kitchen staff with various tasks as needed.
• Provide cooks with needed items and supplies.
• Transport and stock banquet and buffet items.
• Return cleaned items to proper locations.
• Operate and maintain dishwashing and cleaning equipment.
• Assist management with hiring, training, scheduling, and coaching.
• Comply with safety policies; report accidents or unsafe conditions.
• Maintain professional appearance; protect company assets.
• Welcome guests and communicate clearly and professionally.
• Foster positive working relationships and teamwork.
• Adhere to quality expectations and standards.
• Move and lift up to 50 pounds; stand or walk for extended periods.
• Move on various surfaces; perform other duties as needed.
