Job summary

PT Marcopolo Shipyard in Indonesia is seeking a Dimensional Inspector to conduct on-site measurements of steel structures and ship blocks, verify alignment, and document erection dimensions.

You will compare as-built measurements with drawings and tolerances, monitor dimensions during welding, and prepare inspection reports while applying strong analytical and communication skills; English proficiency is required.

Qualifications

• Minimum D3/S1 in Mechanical Engineering, Naval Architecture, or related field.
• Minimum 2 years of hands-on experience in dimensional control within a shipyard or heavy structural steelwork environment.
• Experienced in steel structure/block measurement, alignment, fit-up, and erection verification.
• Able to read and interpret structural/engineering drawings.
• Able to analyze dimensional deviations and prepare inspection reports.
• Good command of English, both written and verbal.

Responsibilities

• Perform on-site dimensional measurements and inspections of steel structures and ship blocks.
• Verify block alignment, fit-up, and erection dimensions.
• Compare as-built measurements with engineering drawings and tolerances.
• Monitor dimensions before, during, and after welding.
• Prepare dimensional inspection reports and support troubleshooting of out-of-tolerance conditions.
