Job summary

McDermott International, Ltd seeks a Dimension Control Tech to execute surveys and report dimensional status on complex subsea structures. You will perform post-weld and pre-weld surveys, monitor calibration, and generate detailed reports per the dimension control plan.

The role requires 3–5 years of surveying experience, strong instrument knowledge, and proficiency in AutoCAD and MS Office. On-site duties in Batam, with adherence to project specs and ITP requirements.

Qualifications

• Senior high school graduate, preferred 2 years diploma in Technical Engineering or Civil Engineering.
• 3-5 years of experience in surveying.
• Good knowledge of Surveying Instruments.
• Computer literate: AutoCAD and MS Office packages.

Responsibilities

• Perform post-weld and pre-weld surveys as specified in the dimension control plan.
• Survey miscellaneous assemblies and conduct continuous level surveys during load out and weighting.
• Prepare dimensional control reports and out-of-tolerance (OOT) reports when non-conformance occurs.
• Resurvey structures after remedial action and monitor equipment calibration register.
• Prepare Calibration Certificates and ensure drawings and calibrated equipment are current.
• Use various survey-measuring equipment and implement ITP, codes and specifications.
• Operate AutoCAD and related calculation programs.

Job Overview

JOB DESCRIPTION

The Dimension Control Tech provides solutions to problems in the Dimension Control discipline without supervisory approval and will evaluate and select solutions from established operating procedures and scientific procedures.

Responsibilities

Key Tasks and Responsibilities

• Perform the following surveys:
  • Post-weld surveys as specified in the dimension control plan and as required by the governing specifications
  • Pre-weld surveys as specified in the dimension control plan
  • Survey of miscellaneous assemblies as required
  • Continuous level surveys during load out and weighting
• Prepare dimensional control reports
• Generate an out-of-tolerance (OOT) report in cases of non-conformance and resurvey the structure after remedial action has taken place
• Monitor and update equipment calibration register
• Prepare Calibration Certificate
• Ensure that the latest drawings and calibrated equipment are used
• Use various types of survey-measuring equipment
• Understand and implementation of ITP, codes and specifications
• Operate Auto Cad and use calculation programs
